Mother Nature was kind enough to provide lovely weather for the fifth annual Joy to the Earth celebration April 18 at the Commons in Selinsgrove. I look forward to this annual event that celebrates Earth Day and caring for Mother Earth. There are displays of all kinds for adults and children. People can learn about “earth care” in a fun and interesting way.

I arrived early at the Rusty Rail for the 15th Camp Koala Fundraising Gala held Saturday, April 11. This wonderful event begins with a sponsors and donors cocktail hour held before the Gala begins. In addition to talking with the early attendees, I have the opportunity to peruse the silent-auction items, look at the beautifully decorated room and tables and check out the delectable array of desserts. After I checked in, I looked for Gala Committee member Kim Sawyer.

The Bucknell Institute for Lifelong Learning brings a wide array of classes to our Valley. Adults are fortunate to have these learning opportunities available — and the camaraderie among the students enhances learning. On Dec. 12, BILL hosted its end-of-term Fall 2025 Reception at Bucknell’s Terrace Room in Langone Center. I checked in and could already feel the warmth and friendship permeating the room.
