The family of beloved journalist William Harper, affectionately known as Paddy, confirmed his death on Saturday. Harper, who worked for various media publications across the country, died at his home on Saturday, surrounded by his loved ones. He was aged 58. His son Mitchell said he is survived by his wife, Zandile, his mother Winnie, his sister Annabel and his three sons, Lindo, Thomas, and Mitchell.
Police are investigating the deaths of six people, including five children, whose bodies were found at a home in the Eastern Cape on Friday night. The incident occurred at a home in Kubha Location outside Flagstaff at about 10pm. "It is alleged that a 27-year-old woman and five children, aged between four and 12 years, were sleeping at their home when they were found dead," Mawisa said. No foul play is suspected, but police investigations are under way.
