Security researchers have uncovered the first instance of an agentic AI-run ransomware campaign. The campaign was uncovered by cloud security firm Sysdig, which attributed the attack to a threat group it calls JADEPUFFER. The campaign specifically targeted an internet-exposed production server running a MySQL database and an Alibaba Nacos configuration running on Langflow, an open-source framework for building large language applications and agentic workflows.
Klue Breach Exposes Salesforce Data At LastPass, Recorded Future, And Other Cybersecurity Firms
A single compromised vendor has rippled across the Salesforce ecosystem. Market intelligence platform Klue confirmed that an attacker breached part of its integration infrastructure and stole the OAuth tokens its customers use to connect Klue to their own systems. Using those stolen integration credentials, the attacker then generated fresh Salesforce API tokens, giving them direct query access to connected customer environments.

Six Windows Zero-Days Dropped Without Warning Show the Cracks in Coordinated Disclosure
Over roughly six weeks this spring, a researcher operating as Chaotic Eclipse published working exploit code for six Windows and Defender zero-day vulnerabilities, none of them shared with Microsoft first. Several remain unpatched, and security firm Huntress confirmed at least three were exploited in real-world attacks within days of release.
Identity Breaches Hit 71% of Organizations in Past Year
More than seven in ten organizations suffered an identity-related security breach in the past 12 months, according to Sophos’s new State of Identity Security 2026 report. Conducted independently by Vanson Bourne, the survey of 5,000 IT and security leaders across 17 countries pegs the global breach rate at 70.9%, with affected organizations reporting an average of three identity-related incidents apiece.
Anthropic’s Claude Helped Adversary Map OT Path During Mexican Water Utility Breach
Threat intelligence published by Dragos has revealed that an adversary used Anthropic’s Claude large language model (LLM) to help map a lateral movement path from IT into operational technology (OT) networks during a confirmed breach of a Mexican water utility. The target was Servicios de Agua y Drenaje de Monterrey (SADM), a public water and wastewater provider serving roughly five million people in the Monterrey metropolitan area of Nuevo León, Mexico.
Palo Alto Firewall Zero-Day Under Active Attack With No Fix Available Until May 13
Palo Alto Networks has confirmed that a critical zero-day in its PAN-OS software has already been used against some of its firewalls. The flaw, CVE-2026-0300, is a buffer overflow in the User-ID Authentication Portal, also known as Captive Portal. CVSS 4.0 puts it at 9.3 if the portal is reachable from the public internet or any untrusted zone. Restricting portal access to internal IPs reduces the score to 8.7. Specially crafted packets are enough.
Trellix Confirms Source Code Repository Breach
Cybersecurity vendor Trellix has confirmed that an unknown actor gained unauthorized access to part of its source code repository. Source code repositories are a high-value target for attackers, as stolen code can expose internal logic, hard-coded credentials, or unpatched vulnerabilities. The company, which protects more than 200 million endpoints across over 50,000 customers, disclosed the incident in a statement updated on May 4 and said outside forensic experts are now investigating.
Microsoft Flags Code-of-Conduct Phishing Campaign Targeting 35,000 Users Across 26 Countries
Microsoft Defender Research has tracked a phishing operation that hit more than 35,000 users at over 13,000 organizations across 26 countries. The activity ran between April 14 and 16, 2026, with code of conduct-themed lures and an attack chain ending in Adversary-in-the-Middle (AiTM) credential theft. Roughly 92% of the emails landed in US inboxes. Healthcare and life sciences took the biggest hit, accounting for 19% of total volume.
