LEXINGTON, Ohio — Sting Ray Robb had a bad-fast No. 77 Juncos Hollinger Racing Chevrolet today on America’s 250th birthday (July 4, 2026), speed that was produced thanks in part to testing conducted by JHR ahead of the Honda Indy 200 at Mid-Ohio Sports Car Course. Despite much different conditions between Friday’s swelteringly hot practice and a much cooler Saturday qualifying after heavy afternoon showers, Robb stayed consistent with his speed and entered today’s session confident in his speed.

LEXINGTON, Ohio — Ohio’s native son, Graham Rahal, wasn’t happy with his car after qualifying 12th for Sunday’s (July 5) Honda Indy 200 at Mid-Ohio Sports Car Course, but the New Albany native maximized what he could with his No. 15 Rahal Letterman Lanigan Racing Honda. The 2015 Mid-Ohio winner turned a lap of 1 minute, 5.4947 seconds in the second round of qualifying to average 124.114 mph around the 13-turn, 2.258-mile road course.

The top of the qualifying grid was painted papaya and black on Saturday (July 4) at Mid-Ohio Sports Car Course. And while this Fourth of July weekend marks the first trip to 1.5-mile oval for the newest drivers in the NASCAR Cup Series field, all the veterans are reuniting with a long-lost friend. More than half the drivers (20 of 38) in Sunday’s (July 5) eero 400 field have run a previous Cup race at Chicagoland, and 13 others have made at least one Chicagoland start in either the O’Reilly Series, the Craftsman Truck Series or the ARCA Menards Series.

Denny Hamlin won the pole for Sunday’s (July 5) eero 400 Cup Series race at Chicagoland Speedway by only one one-thousandth of a second over Kyle Larson.
