(CNN) — Health officials investigating the large outbreak of diarrhea caused by the parasite cyclospora say they have “very strong” evidence that shredded iceberg lettuce supplied by Taylor Farms is the likely source, despite a false positive test for the parasite over the weekend. “FDA’s traceback investigation and outbreak data continue to converge on shredded iceberg lettuce from Taylor Farms locations in Central Mexico,” the US Food and Drug Administration said in a statement Monday.

ADAMS TOWNSHIP, Minn. — A man was hurt when his car and a semi-truck crashed at an intersection in Mower County. The crash happened around 2 p.m. Monday at Highway 56 and Mower County Road 5 west of Adams. Peter Gerber, 55, of Rose Creek was driving a Kia Soul east on County Road 5 when it collided with a Mack semi-truck heading north on Highway 56, according to the Minnesota State Patrol.

CLEAR LAKE, Iowa — U.S. Senator Mark Kelly will speak at the 2026 Iowa Democratic Wing Ding on August 13 at 6 p.m. Kelly is a retired U.S. Navy combat pilot, engineer and NASA astronaut. WINONA, Minn. — Minnesota State College Southeast has trained more than 500 truck drivers for Kwik Trip over the past decade through a unique partnership that started with a simple conversation in 2015. ST. PAUL, Minn. — A St. Paul man will spend more than two years in federal prison for running a tax fraud scheme that targeted COVID-19 relief programs. Henry Remington Herod, 43, was sentenced to 30 months in prison and ordered to pay $1.18 million in restitution for preparing and filing false federal income tax returns claiming refunds, according to U.S. Attorney Daniel N. Rosen. Chief U.S. District Court Judge Eric C. Tostrud handed down the sentence.
