New York (CNN) — Officials identified the suspect who threw an incendiary device and set a fire Monday morning outside a federal building in New York City as a 43-year-old Army veteran. Andrew Arrabaca poured gasoline onto the ground and ignited it with a lighter and an incendiary device, James Barnacle, the assistant director in charge of the FBI New York Field Office, said. Arrabaca “came armed with bad intentions,” Barnacle said.

AUSTIN, Minn. — Austin police are asking for the public's help after multiple cars were broken into overnight. The break-ins happened in two main areas of the city. One cluster was near Eighth Avenue and 18th Street Southwest, close to the fairgrounds, and another was around 10th Avenue and 11th Street Northwest, near Riverland Community College and Sumner Elementary School. Police are asking anyone with security camera footage to review it for suspicious activity.

(CNN) — The Department of Defense on Monday identified two US soldiers who were killed in Iranian strikes in Jordan. 1st Lt. Tyler James Feehan, 25, and Pvt. Isabella Gonzales, 19, were killed as part of the Friday attack on Muwaffaq Salti Air Base in Jordan. Gonzales, of Carrollton, Texas, died Friday, while Feehan, of Ewa Beach, Hawaii, died Saturday, the Defense Department said. Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps had claimed responsibility for the attacks in a statement on Saturday.

MINNEAPOLIS, Minn. — A 21-year-old Elk River man has pleaded guilty to his role in a violent street gang conspiracy that has operated in Minneapolis for more than two decades. Damari Douglas admitted to multiple crimes as part of the Lows gang, including voluntary manslaughter and illegal firearms trafficking. He is the second of 14 gang members charged under federal racketeering laws to plead guilty. Federal prosecutors say the Lows gang has been active in north Minneapolis since around 2004.

MASON CITY, Iowa — The Moonlight Bike Ride returns Aug. 14 with a new route through Mason City. The Greater Mason City Chamber of Commerce Program Committee is organizing the family-friendly event at the Prairie Rock Trail Bike Park. The ride promotes the use of local bike trails while encouraging a healthier, more active community. Check-in and walk-up registration begin at 8 p.m. at the Prairie Rock Trail Bike Park, located just north of the Mason City Dog Park.

CHARLES CITY, Iowa - Six years after allegedly being found in possession of illegal drugs, a Floyd County man is pleading not guilty. Law enforcement says Johnigan Donyeal Allen Stewart III, 46 of Charles City, was caught with 320 grams of marijuana and four tablets of methamphetamine during a search in the 1400 block of S. Grand Avenue in Charles City on February 27, 2020. A criminal complaint charging Stewart with intent to deliver marijuana and intent to deliver meth was filed in December 2020.

IOWA CITY, Iowa (KCCI) -- Jaidyn Coon comes to Iowa as a four-star recruit. After a decorated career at Storm Lake High School, he has big goals for his freshman year. "I have the mentality that I just want to dunk on somebody, no matter how big," Coon said. The best part? He's not afraid to do the dirty work. "I grew up in a small town, 8,000 people," he said.
