Las Vegas, NV (KXNT) – U.S. Marshals in Las Vegas have arrested a man they say is the one who terrified numerous resident in Philadelphia this month while wearing a creepy baby-doll mask. 22-year-old Zymire Hughes was apprehended at an apartment complex in the 6500 block of Boulder Highway. He is currently being held at the Clark County Detention Center as he awaits extradition back to Pennsylvania.

Las Vegas, NV (KXNT) – A brief paratransit strike has officially ended after the contractor, Transdev, and Teamsters Local 631 reached a tentative three-year agreement on Wednesday night. The strike, which began early Wednesday morning, briefly disrupted door-to-door transportation services for seniors and riders with disabilities across Southern Nevada.

Las Vegas, NV (KXNT) – A woman has been arrested and charged with intentionally starting one of two large wildfires currently burning in northern Nevada. 47-year-old Christine Mitchellof Reno was arrested by the Washoe County Sheriff’s Office after flagging down responding emergency crews and admitting she intentionally started the Fred Mountain Fire. That fire later merged with the Bug Fire, expanding into a massive blaze of more than 57,000 acres along the California-Nevada border.

Las Vegas, NV (KXNT) - Nevada Governor Joe Lombardo has declared a state of emergency for Washoe County and the Reno-Sparks Indian Colony. The executive order, signed on Monday, responds to the rapidly spreading Bug Fire and Fred Mountain Fire, which have scorched over 16,000 acres combined and continue to threaten thousands of homes. The state of emergency is scheduled to remain in effect through Monday, August 17th.

LAS VEGAS (AP) — The trial of a man accused of orchestrating the killing of Tupac Shakur started this week with jury selection, almost 30 years after the rap legend was gunned down near the Las Vegas Strip. Attorneys began vetting potential jurors Monday for the case, which centers on one of the hip-hop world’s defining moments and enduring mysteries. Seven potential jurors were asked to return Thursday afternoon as attorneys continue the selection process Tuesday and Wednesday.

Las Vegas, NV (KXNT) – For the second time in a week, a Metro Police officer has been shot. Just after 12:30am, Metro responded to a domestic dispute at a home near Buffalo and Tropicana. When officers got to the scene, Metro says a person inside of the home fired shots through a door that struck an officer. They then set the house on fire. The wounded officer was taken to U.M.C. Trauma, where they’re listed in stable condition. It’s not believed that the wounds are life threatening.
