Having won three consecutive national championships, that fact is indisputable. A big part of that is the excellent coaching within the conference. Today we took a stab at ranking the 18 head coaches in the Big Ten heading into the 2026 season.

Jyaire Hill makes first-team All-Big Ten: In his junior season, Hill was an All-Big Ten honorable mention. The double moves are often what caught Hill up early in his career, but are something he’s becoming more accustomed to. Now with Gilford coming in with experience at the position, and with Hill able to pull from the likes of Will Johnson and other strong corners before him, Hill could reach his full potential if led down the right path.

Here’s what you need to know today… Michigan is taking a shot at one of Ohio State’s highest ranked commitments in the 2028 class.

Michigan Basketball has earned the commitments of several McDonald’s All-Americans the past few years. The one true product of the Dusty May era is Trey McKenney, who will be a leader for the Wolverines in his sophomore year. Two new additions who are among the first of the Mike Boynton Jr. era are Brandon McCoy Jr. and Quinn Costello.

The Michigan special teams have been an utter disaster the last two years under former coordinator J.B. Brown, but things are trending in a much better direction under Kerry Coombs. The kicking was not up to par, but the punt game was especially dreadful last year with Hudson Hollenbeck. The former starter averaged 43.2 yards on 40 punts in 2025, and the unit as a whole ranked 69th in the country in average punting yards and 96th in net punting yards.

Michigan quarterback Bryce Underwood hasn’t shied away from having high standards for himself. He wants to win the Heisman and a national championship — but if that’s to occur, it’ll coincide with the sophomore improving as a player. The good news for Underwood and Michigan is it appears Underwood has improved substantially this off-season.

Yost Ice Arena feels like it was built for college hockey. The old-school architecture, students practically on top of the ice and noise bouncing around the building make it one of the sport’s most recognizable venues. But what if I told you that Yost wasn’t built for hockey at all? The building is more than 100 years old and housed basketball, track and football before Michigan ever put an ice sheet inside.
