The Michigan Wolverines had a decent offensive line last season, but the unit has to be among the best of the best if they are to make a return to the College Football Playoff. Going into the 2025 season, there was a talented true freshman who was expected to make a big impact during his first year with the program -- five-star Andrew Babalola. But a heartbreaking ACL tear during the offseason kept him on the sidelines. Now, he is working his way back and fighting for a role.

Michigan Hockey finished 31-8-1 last season, one of the best records in program history. The offense was the best in the country; the defense was 11th; and there’s a case this was the best team in college hockey last season, it just ran into Dominik Hasek incarnate in the Frozen Four. Now, the Wolverines are poised to be even better this season. Head coach Brandon Naurato tore down the roster and rebuilt it in 2025, and now he’s reloading.

Michigan Football recently picked up a commitment from 2027 four-star linebacker Frederrick Ford. At 6-foot-3, 195 pounds, Ford comes from Greenwood, Mississippi, where he was highly coveted among SEC schools. The Rivals Industry Rankings has Ford as the No. 244 player in his class, 21st among linebackers and ninth overall in Mississippi, carrying a 90.53 rating.

The Michigan men’s basketball program is in a sit and wait period for the next three weeks until everyone on the roster will have to make a decision regarding their futures. Former Michigan basketball coach Dusty May elected to leave Ann Arbor last week, choosing to take the head coaching job with the Dallas Mavericks and leaving the Wolverines’ program in a state of uncertainty.

Michigan Basketball got some much-needed good news on the roster retention front, as center Moustapha Thiam will remain with the Wolverines for the 2026-27 season despite Dusty May’s departure to the Dallas Mavericks. Thiam was one of the most coveted big men in the transfer portal this offseason.

Michigan’s offensive line experienced a tumultuous 2025 season. Four different players that all would have had significant snaps were limited due to injury and that caused the starter at left tackle, left guard and right guard to change all season long. Michigan is in much better shape heading into the 2026 season and is set to have an offensive line rotation of seven starting caliber players and a good supporting cast to help out if injuries plague the group again.

The Big Ten has long been a conference rooted in strong safety play. From Michigan’s Tom Curtis and Ohio State’s Jack Tatum to Iowa’s Bob Sanders and Wisconsin’s Jim Leonhard, the rich tradition extends beyond 50 years and is not slowing down. In two of the last three NFL Drafts, the first safety taken was from a Big Ten school (Minnesota’s Tyler Nubin in 2024 and Ohio State’s Caleb Downs in 2026).
