Manly Observer
Online/Digital
Manly Observer is an experiment in providing non-sensationalist hyperlocal news in the Manly ward region (lower Northern Beaches). It is run by those living in the community for the benefit of an informed community. That's it. Simple.
We will endeavour to be as direct and clear as we can, with the occasional quirky pun or bit of observational humour or conversational tone.
Objectivity is near impossible. It’s like trying to stop the aggressive Manly seagulls from pinching your chips! You’ll probably fail but you at least have to put in a few kicks and strive for success. Source

Youth crime, e-bikes dominate Northern Beaches public safety forum
About 40 residents and a dozen senior police officers attended a community safety forum at Dee Why Surf Life Saving Club last night, 21 July, hosted by Wakehurst MP Michael Regan alongside Police Area Commander Superintendent John Duncan. Youth crime and a perceived sense of impunity among young offenders emerged as the dominant themes of the evening. Several community members said they felt young people believed they could act without real consequences.
