Landing gear issue prompts emergency response at MCC Airport
MURRAY — A small twin-engine airplane with a nose landing gear malfunction landed safely Tuesday morning at Murray-Calloway County Airport after the crew circled to burn off fuel and emergency responders were placed on standby. The incident was reported around 9:45 a.m. and involved a Beechcraft Travel Air operated by Skyview Aviation with an instructor and a student aboard, said Airport Manager Anthony Young. No injuries were reported.

Murray man charged with meth trafficking after investigation
MURRAY – A Murray man was arrested Sunday after the Calloway County Sheriff's Office investigated a report of a person possibly in possession of illegal narcotics. According to CCSO, deputies responded at about 11:30 a.m. Sunday to a residence on Ridgewood Drive. Following an investigation, deputies arrested Justin K. McClain, 40, of Murray.

MURRAY — In 2016, state budget cuts meant the end of an institution in Murray State athletics, its men’s tennis program. Jorge Caetano still remembers it. Though he was not directly affected by this situation professionally — he was safe as the head coach of the women’s program — he remembers how it hurt to see this happen.

Trigg grand jury indicts Swope on eight felony sex charges
CADIZ — Former Murray Police Department Detective Sgt. Justin Swope has been indicted by a Trigg County grand jury on eight felony charges alleging sexual offenses involving a minor, adding to the 30-count indictment he is already facing in neighboring Calloway County.
Rosson arraigned on murder, arson charges
MURRAY – A Dexter man was arraigned Tuesday in Calloway County District Court for charges of murder and first-degree arson in connection with the May death of an Almo woman. The charges were filed last Thursday by the Calloway County Sheriff's Office, which alleged that Jason C. Rosson, 43, of Dexter, participated in the May 19 killing of 65-year-old Lisa Bebber before her mobile home was intentionally set on fire.
