LAS VEGAS (KSNV) — A 19-year-old motorcyclist suffered life-threatening injuries in a crash on Saturday morning at Lake Mead Boulevard and McDaniel Street near Civic Center Drive in North Las Vegas. North Las Vegas Police Department officers were dispatched at about 11:31 a.m. to the intersection for a collision involving a motorcycle and a sedan. Officers arrived and found a 19-year-old male motorcyclist with life-threatening injuries.

Jim Thornton, the longtime announcer for "Wheel of Fortune," was fired after Sony Pictures Television conducted an investigation into allegations concerning him, according to reports. "Following a thorough investigation, Jim Thornton's employment with "Wheel of Fortune' has been terminated, effective immediately," a Sony spokesperson told PEOPLE. The studio did not specify the allegations or explain the basis for its decision, per the media outlet.

LAS VEGAS (KSNV) — International travelers in Laughlin will have a chance to apply for a U.S. passport locally when the U.S. Postal Service hosts a passport fair Thursday, September 10, at the Laughlin Post Office. Appointments are not required, but applicants will be served on a first-come, first-served basis. Customers are encouraged to arrive early. Passport photos also will be available at the event. To help speed up the process, customers are encouraged to fill out forms ahead of time.

As of early Saturday afternoon, the fundraiser, "In Memory of Erin Piacenti: Supporting Madison's Future," had collected more than $851,000 toward a $1.2 million goal from 8,700 donors.
