The sweepers, contest mechanics, promotional language, positioning statements and “more music” promises often feel as if they come from the same decades-old playbook.
Summ’it to launch live earbud podcast experience
Belgian podcast platform and production company Summ’it will launch what it describes as a world-first live podcast experience this summer, allowing audiences to listen to live recordings through their own earbuds rather than loudspeakers. From July 18 through Aug. 29, Summ’it will operate a pop-up podcast studio every Saturday morning at the historic Barkentijn building in Nieuwpoort, a coastal city in western Belgium.
NGroup rolls out multibrand studios
EVERE, Belgium — Belgian private broadcaster NGroup, which operates NRJ and Nostalgie, as well as associated DAB+ stations NRJ+ and Nostalgie+, and the digital-only brand Chérie, has implemented a group-wide system of interchangeable, multibrand studios. Designed to seamlessly switch between audio, audio/video and voice tracking, the studio system is built around Wheatstone architecture.
DHD releases network utility app
Based on mDNS, dhd discovery handles tracking, information and discovery of DHD connected IP devices on a network and then provides a path to then connect to that device’s control app. It’s free and is compatible with Windows, Apple and Linux. Tech Focus: NeoScreener allows HD audio links
NeoGroupe has just added a new function for phone systems that interface with NeoScreener, its call-screening application for talk shows. Now, stations using NeoScreener can send an HTTPS link that lets the guest call the studio on priority lines in their device’s web browser. In addition, the call will be in HD audio (higher-quality codecs such as Opus for NeoSIP and G.722 for others). There is no app to install.

Aeranti-Corallo celebrates 50 years of Italian local broadcasting
Aeranti-Corallo, the federation representing around 600 local radio and television broadcasters in Italy, marked 50 years of local broadcasting on July 9 at its RadioTV Forum 2026 in Rome, celebrating the landmark 1976 Constitutional Court ruling that ended the country’s state monopoly on local radio and television. The event also looked ahead, with industry leaders calling for regulatory and technological changes to strengthen the future of local broadcasters.
