Yesterday Billy Strings continued his stretch of West Coast dates at the Oakland Arena. This was the second of two nights at the venue. It was also a special evening as October 3 is Strings’ 34rd birthday. The Friday night gig in Oakland offered some memorable moments. Following the “In The Clear” opener, the version of “Turmoil and Tinfoil” extended for more than 20 minutes.

Phish kicked off a brief fall at Atlantic City, NJ’s Jim Whelan Boardwalk Hall last night, marking their first appearance at the venue since Halloween weekend 2013. Jack Johnson is currently in the midst of his extended Surfilmusic tour. For the past two nights, the singer-songwriter has been in the Bay Area for performances at Berkeley, CA’s William Randolph Hearst Greek Theatre, and he used the occasion to welcome some old friends to the stage at both concerts.

Phish have confirmed the details for the next two installments in their LP on LP vinyl series, both of which are slated for release on November 20. LP on LP 07: 11/28/94 “Tweezer” Vinyl [Step Into The Freezer Pressing] will document a standout version of the classic Phish jam vehicle from the group’s 1990s prime.

Goose will not host their annual Viva El Gonzo event next year. The Connecticut-bred act first produced the Mexican destination event in 2025, featuring The War on Dugs, Tycho, Dawes, Pigeons Playing Ping Pong, Eggy and several others, and brought the multi-band bill back earlier this year with My Morning Jacket, Cory Wong, the Disco Biscuits, Jim James and several others.

Michael Shannon and Jason Narducy will return to the road in 2027 for the next installment of their ongoing R.E.M. tribute run. This time, the pair will celebrate the 40th anniversary of R.E.M.’s Document. Kicking off Wednesday, February 3 at Denver, CO’s Summit Music Hall, the extensive Document tour will take Shannon and Narducy to Los Angeles, San Francisco, Portland, Seattle, Chicago, Brooklyn, Washington, DC and Philadelphia, as well as R.E.M.’s Athena, GA hometown.

Lucy Dacus, Infinity Song and Emmy-nominated and Peabody-winning writer, director and comedian Julio Torres will come together for WhyHunger’s annual Amplified Hungerthon Concert. The event will take place at New York’s Webster Hall on December 1. Adding to the festivities, fans will have a chance to request a song to influence headliner Dacus’ setlist by donating to WhyHunger.
