Relix magazine was launched in 1974 as a handmade newsletter devoted to connecting people who recorded Grateful Dead concerts. It rapidly expanded into a music magazine covering a wide amount of artists. It is the second-longest continuously published music magazine in the United States after Rolling Stone. Widespread Panic will celebrate Halloween with shows at New Orleans' UNO Lakefront Arena on Friday, October 30 and Saturday, October 31. The Southern jam-titans have played the arena regularly since 1997, always on or around Halloween, but have not performed at the venue since 2021. They most recently appeared in the Big Easy this spring when they headlined a day of the New Orleans Jazz & Heritage Festival.

Trey Anastasio Performs in a Boxing Ring with Hank Heaven
On Saturday, Trey Anastasio made a surprise appearance with Hank Heaven at New York’s Church Street Boxing Gym. The Phish guitarist emerged near the end of the show, which took place in an actual boxing ring, to play on one of their originals, “Hank Heaven’s 113th Wet Dream.” Annie DiRusso, another indie artist Anastasio has worked with recently, sat in earlier in the night as well on “Pope from Chicago.” book NOT brooke, Renny Conti and James Eichman also took part in the festivities.
Skerik Augments JRAD in Washington
Joe Russo’s Almost Dead spent the weekend routing through the Pacific Northwest. The three-show run came to a close at Carnation, WA’s Remlinger Farms on Saturday and, at the start of their second set, JRAD brought out saxophonist Skerik for an extended jam. Skerik, who lives in Seattle, remained on stage as the jam developed into “The Eleven” and then segued into a take on “St. Stephen” that contained prominent “Black Peter” teases.

The String Cheese Incident Share the Stage with Leftover Salmon, Revive Covers
The String Cheese Incident closed out the summer leg of their Just Keep Spinning tour with a big, two-night campout at Eau Claire, WI’s The Pines Music Park over the weekend. Leftover Salmon opened on Friday while Lettuce supplied support duties on Saturday, and the evening’s hosts delivered a full, two-set show each night. Near the end of their first set on night one, String Cheese Incident invited out their old friends from Leftover Salmon for a few tunes.
Tedeschi Trucks Band Welcome Lukas Nelson for CSNY, Joe Cocker Nods
Last night, Tedeschi Trucks Band headlined San Diego, CA’s The Rady Shell at Jacobs Park. Lukas Nelson, who has been on the road with TTB for this stretch of their run, opened the night and emerged at the end of evening for a collaborative encore. As he did on Thursday in Santa Barbara, CA, Nelson and members of his band returned to the stage to join Tedeschi Trucks Band for a tender reading of Crosby, Stills, Nash & Young’s “Helpless” after the main TTB set.
Karina Rykman Joins My Morning Jacket at Hoochenanny
On Saturday, My Morning Jacket performed at Fairport, NY’s Perinton Center Park Amphitheater as part of the Hoochenanny festival. Bassist Karina Rykman was also on the bill with her trio and, as she has several times before, sat in with the band for a few songs during their show.

The 2026 Summer moe.mentUM tour finally came to a close last night in Highland Park, IL. moe. and Umphrey’s McGee performed 17 shows together, starting with a gig at XL Live in Harrisburg, PA on June 11. The final two gigs again featured a collaborative encores with members of both bands (which happened every night except for July 11 at Sand Mountain Amphitheater in Albertville, AL due to weather conditions). On Friday at Cain Park Evans Amphitheater in Cleveland Heights, OH, the UMoe.
