Salem (Utah) Salem Hills athlete Peyton Higginson has committed to BYU and broke down why he chose the Cougars. BYU is on a nice run right now and just picked up another key piece to their ’27 recruiting class. Higginson is a talented two-way athlete who chose the Cougs after narrowing his list to also include Michigan and Utah State. “I’m very excited about my decision and exited to be a Coug,” Higginson said.

Maryland made the final impression, and it was enough to keep one of the state’s top playmakers home. Four-star wide receiver Myles McAfee of Severn (Md.) Archbishop Spalding has committed to the Terrapins, choosing the hometown program over Virginia Tech. The recruitment came down to the two regional powers, with Maryland hosting the talented pass catcher for his final official visit on June 19. Entering that weekend, the race was essentially even.

On Monday, Rivals updated its class of 2027 player rankings for the sixth time. This is the fourth update for the 2027 class with a full allotment of 150 players (the Rivals150). The movement and additions are based on two key sources: 1) in-person player evaluations through the mid-part of the high school season, and 2) film study and intel gathered on prospects since the previous update.
