United Airlines launched multiple new nonstop flight options on Saturday, including the first direct commercial service between Maine and California. According to WMTW, United Flight 1207 arrived at the Portland International Jetport at 4:24 p.m. Saturday, bringing passengers directly from San Francisco to Portland for the first time. The Portland Fire Department marked the occasion with a ceremonial water salute.
