IP Group suitor Railpen in new tilt after talks with investors, board
(Alliance News) - IP Group PLC suitor Railways Pension Trustee Co Ltd said Friday it has made a sweetened proposal to acquire the investor in the science and technology sectors, following meetings with shareholders. Railpen said it "spent a significant amount of time meeting with shareholders and the IP Group board". It said it made two new proposals to the IP board. Railpen owns 18% of IP.

Nigerian court dismisses suit challenging Shell's divestment
(Alliance News) - A Nigerian court Friday dismissed a lawsuit by a traditional monarch in the oil-rich delta region seeking to halt Shell PLC's plan to offload its onshore assets over accusations of decades of environmental pollution. Bubaraye Dakolo, the monarch of Ekpetiama kingdom in southern Bayelsa state, had taken the London-based energy firm to court after it announced conclusion of the sale of its Nigerian onshore assets in March 2025.

System1 reiterates "unequivocal" rejection of Brave Bison approach
(Alliance News) - System1 Group PLC on Friday reiterated its view that Brave Bison Group PLC's takeover approach "materially undervalues" the company. System1, a London-based marketing firm, said the offer by Brave Bison, a London-based advertising and communications agency, "does not represent fair value for System1 shareholders". Brave Bison, which holds a 28% interest in System1 and is its largest shareholder, last week Friday tabled a new cash-and-shares proposal.
LONDON MARKET CLOSE: Utility stocks support FTSE 100 in nervy trade
(Alliance News) - London's FTSE 100 outperformed global peers on Friday, as markets were hurt by technology sector jitters, with chip shares among the worst hit, while events in the Middle East also continued to keep a lid on enthusiasm. The FTSE 100 index closed up 28.13 points, 0.3%, at 10,600.37. The FTSE 250 fell 111.00 points, 0.5%, at 23,604.83, and the AIM All-Share gave back 6.87 points, 0.9% at 759.31.
