(Alliance News) - New York-based private equity firm Cerberus Capital Management LP is close to a GBP1 billion agreement to acquire the defence unit of Goodwin PLC, the Financial Times reported on Tuesday. Shares in the Stoke-on-Trent, Staffordshire-based mechanical and refractory engineering company closed down 19% at 16,197.00 pence in London on Tuesday, bringing its market capitalization to GBP1.22 billion. Shares are down 25% this year.
