The Lee County Sheriff’s Office said its deputies responded to a home after receiving a report of an attempted burglary. Deputies learned that an unknown man was caught moving cinder blocks in front of the home to gain access to it, LCSO said. The man realized that the homeowner called 911, so he ran, according to deputies.

LEE COUNTY, Fla. (WFLA) — Florida deputies used a drone to rescue a dog that got stuck in a storm drain on Monday morning. The Lee County Sheriff’s Office said its deputies, along with crews from the Fort Myers Shore Fire Department and Lee County Animal Control, were called to the Portico community after a dog named Fletcher crawled deep into a storm drainage pipe. Deputies sent a drone into the pipe to find Fletcher. Lee County deputies used a drone to rescue a dog that was stuck in a storm drain.

Brevard County Sheriff Wayne Ivey said Michael Borowski and Nestor Guanzon adopted a dog from the sheriff’s office’s shelter in September 2025. The pair put a vest on their dog, Teddy, in October 2025, according to Ivey.

VENICE, Fla. (WFLA) — A man was arrested after he fired shots from his vehicle, which grazed another man he had argued with outside a sports bar in Venice, the Sarasota County Sheriff’s Office said. The sheriff’s office said 24-year-old Colby Moran got into an argument with another man outside the Outlook Pub around 10:40 p.m. Sunday. According to investigators, both men armed themselves with guns when the situation escalated.

(WFLA) — Employees at an HVAC company in Brevard County found their cars damaged when they arrived at work after a “disgruntled” former co-worker shot the vehicles with projectiles on July 9, according to the sheriff’s office. The Brevard County Sheriff’s Office said its deputies responded to American Air & Heat after employees found that eight of their vehicles were damaged by what appeared to be projectiles fired from a firearm.
