Memorial Day vigil at Lake El Reno honors four killed in I-40 wrong-way crash

EL RENO, OK (KOKH) — Large crowds formed at Lake El Reno Memorial Day to honor the lives of Kiercy Hickson, Haleigh Salazar, Brad Palmer, and Quincy Jones. They were killed on I-40 last Friday by a driver who was going the wrong way. "I want her to be remembered for her faith and her love for god and her friends and family," said Hickson's mother. Emotions ran high at the vigil, as people hugged, embraced, and approached a table showing the pictures of the victims.

Amputee Julian Aguilar walks across stage at high school graduation after years of therapy

PONCA CITY, OK-(KOKH) — It's graduation season for many. But for Julian Aguilar, it means even more. When he was only 12 years old, he got in a serious accident and lost one of his legs. Despite a rough last few years, he recently accomplished a big goal of his: walking across the stage at his high school graduation. He was forever changed at age 12 when he crashed his bike into a school bus and was dragged underneath it until it could come to a stop.

Operation SAFE dismantles third Norman encampment in under a month; needles found

NORMAN, OK- (KOKH) — Governor Stitt's Operation SAFE came to Norman Friday clearing out a homeless encampment. It's now the third encampment that's been dismantled in the city in under a month. Stitt said during the operation, several needles were discovered. It comes after an encampment clearing FOX 25 reported on that happened earlier this week at Frances Cate Park. FOX 25 was told by a Food & Shelter Inc. representative that the camp clear out happened in a nearby field which.
