The condition affects fewer than 50 children worldwide and has led to daily seizures, significant respiratory challenges and developmental delays.

Tennessee Athletics announces 2027 Lady Vols softball conference series schedule
KNOXVILLE, Tenn. — Tennessee softball announced its 2027 Southeastern Conference weekend series matchups on Wednesday. The Lady Vols will kick off the season in Texas against Texas A&M with a three-game series March 12 through 14. Tennessee will host Texas next, with their matchup scheduled for March 19-21. UT will host four of the opponents, with Oklahoma, Georgia and Missouri also traveling to Knoxville.
Virginia mom convicted after letting 5-year-old walk alone to neighborhood pond
WASHINGTON — A Virginia mother convicted of a misdemeanor after allowing her 5-year-old son to walk alone to a neighborhood pond says she plans to appeal the case. Karyann Parkinson was convicted of contributing to the delinquency of a minor, a Class 1 misdemeanor, in connection with the June incident, according to Virginia court records. She was given a six-month suspended jail sentence.

WASHINGTON — O'Charley's Restaurant & Bar is reportedly closing all its remaining locations in the U.S, according to some restaurant employees and multiple media reports. The Nashville-based restaurant chain operates 49 company-owned locations and three franchise restaurants across the country. Employees at one Virginia location confirmed their restaurant was closing, while another location in Tennessee said they hadn't learned of any news from corporate.
