Tropical Depression Two has officially formed over the eastern Gulf and will be the main weather story for the next several days across northwest Florida and southwest Alabama. The National Hurricane Center expects the system to slowly strengthen, with it likely becoming a tropical storm within the next 24 to 48 hours. If it reaches tropical storm strength, it will receive the name Bertha.

NAVARRE, Fla. -- An elderly woman was rescued from a burning home Saturday evening after Holley-Navarre Fire District firefighters entered through a bedroom window during a fast-moving residential fire in the 2100 block of Villa Street. Firefighters were dispatched at 7:59 p.m. after a 911 caller reported the rear porch of a home was on fire. The caller also reported numerous vehicles in the driveway, raising concerns that people might still be inside.

The WEAR First Warning Weather Team is closely monitoring Invest 91L, an area of low pressure in the northeastern Gulf that has a high chance of developing into a tropical system over the next couple of days. According to the National Hurricane Center, the system now has an 80% chance of development over the next 48 hours and the next seven days. If it becomes a named storm, it would be called Bertha.
