WKTV, an American television station, is the NBC affiliate for the Mohawk Valley of Central New York, licensed to Utica. It broadcasts a high definition digital signal on UHF channel 29 (or virtual channel 2.1 via PSIP) from a transmitter in the Eatonville section of Fairfield and Herkimer. The station can also be seen on Time Warner Cable channel 4 and in high definition on digital channel 1203. Owned by Heartland Media, it has studios on Smith Hill Road in Deerfield (with a Utica postal address). Syndicated programming on WKTV includes Jeopardy!, Wheel of Fortune, Dr. Phil and Judge Judy among others. Source

New Hartford Police Arrest Man on 5 Criminal Contempt Charges
UTICA, N.Y. -- A man was arrested after police investigated repeated violations of a family court order of protection in Oneida County. The New Hartford Police Department reported that Stacey Snell, 54, was taken into custody following a multi-week investigation into incidents that began on June 17. Police said Snell allegedly contacted the protected party by phone and voicemail several times between June 17 and June 28, despite a court order prohibiting all contact.
Fatal Plane Crash at Piseco Airport in Hamilton County
PISECO, N.Y. -- A person died after a single-engine plane crashed at Piseco Airport. The Hamilton County Sheriff's Office reported the crash happened at 7:09 p.m. on July 12 in the Town of Arietta. The Sheriff's Office responded along with New York State Forest Rangers, Piseco Fire Department, Lake Pleasant Fire Department, Speculator Fire Department and ambulance crews. The Federal Aviation Administration and NTSB are sending investigators to the scene.

NEW YORK (AP) — Kia America has issued a new recall for nearly 463,000 of its Telluride SUVs, urging owners to again park their vehicles outside and away from buildings after several customers reported fires following previous repairs. The recall, announced this week by the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration, replaces a prior one Kia initiated in 2024.
