SALISBURY, Md. – The Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) is seeking information into the unsolved disappearances of two Salisbury women. Authorities are looking for 26-year-old Shaquanna “Kita” Rutherford, who was last seen on May 19, 2025, in the area of Parsons Road and Fitzwater Drive in Salisbury. Rutherford was known to frequent the areas near the bridge by the La Quinta Inn, and by the Anchorage Health Center.

SNOW HILL, Md. – Since 1999, The Snow Hill Pharmacy has been the lone pharmacy in the town. But after they lost their partnership with the Worcester County Jail, their future is uncertain. The pharmacy has had to shorten their hours and even close their doors on Wednesdays and Saturdays. The jail told Snow Hill Pharmacy owner Jeff Sherr that they would be deciding to fill their prescriptions elsewhere, ending a decade long partnership.

Through national and regional mutual-aid agreements, Delaware Forest Service personnel and equipment may be mobilized to assist with wildfire incidents across the country.

The Upper Shore Regional Council and Kent County Economic and Tourism Development announced the partnership on Monday, saying it was an investment into the CTE Program and its associated student-led shed project.

DOVER, Del.- Gov. Matt Meyer has signed landmark legislation thats establishing a sustainable funding source to modernize Delaware’s emergency communications network by transitioning it to a statewide Next Generation 911 (NG 911) system. Beginning on Oct 1,  the monthly 911 surcharge is set to increase from sixty cents to ninety cents the first adjustment since 2001.

KENT COUNTY, Del. – The Delaware Division of Public Health (DPH) is reporting its first confirmed measles case in more than a decade. Officials say a sample was tested and confirmed positive on Monday, and extensive contact tracing is ongoing to identify anyone exposed to the tested individual. DPH will notify people who were identified as exposed to confirm whether they have been vaccinated against measles, provide educational resources, and to recommend treatment when necessary.

MARYLAND – Perdue and the Baltimore Ravens have announced a new multi-year partnership to fuel gameday while also feeding Maryland communities. At the start of the 2026 NFL season, Perdue will become the Official Chicken of the Baltimore Ravens. The partnership officially kicked off on Monday at the Maryland Food Bank, where leaders from both organizations made a donation of nearly 43,000 pounds of chicken to support hunger relief efforts.

UPDATE: A former emergency medical technician in Somerset County has been sentenced to 35 years for the sexual abuse of a minor and related charges. On Jul. 17, Associate Judge Karen M. Dean sentenced 51-year-old Oliver Kennedy to the maximum sentence allowed by law for charges of sexual abuse of a minor and second degree assault. The sentencing follow’s Kennedy’s conviction by a jury at the end of April.

SALISBURY, Md.-  The Salisbury Fire Department annouced the upcoming launch of it’s Prehospital Whole Blood Program, an initiative that will allow specially trained paramedics to administer low-titer O-positive whole blood to critically injured patients before they arrive at the hospital. The program enables paramedics to begin replacing blood loss at the scene of an emergency, allowing treatment to start earlier in a patient’s care and improving overall outcomes.

CRISFIELD, Md. – The Crisfield Police Department arrested a Princess Anne man twice in one night following multiple disturbances at the same location. Officers arrested 34-year-old Andre Lamont Schoolfield on charges of disorderly conduct, second degree assault, and resisting arrest. He was arraigned and released on his own recognizance.
