Crisfield, Md. – Governor Wes Moore has announced 20 MILLION DOLLARS in state funds for 24 public boating projects in Maryland, including Somers Cove Marina in Somerset County. The Maryland Department of Natural Resources will provide $7 million in General Obligation Bonds and a little over $1.7 million from the Waterway Improvement Fund to improve the marina. Somers Cove Marina is the largest publicly-owned marina in the state.

Westover, Md. – New Maryland legislation passed in April will change regulations on how farmers can conduct food service at their farms. House Bill 272, which passed in April, allows farmers to apply for an annual permit for on-site food service rather than the 30-day permit they can apply for up to two times in one year.

The Town of Snow Hill says that it takes a village, or rather a town, to pull off the inaugural Snow Hill River Fest — which was a huge success! OCEAN CITY, Md. – The Town of Ocean City (OC) is countersuing St. Paul’s by the Sea Episcopal Church amid a months-long dispute surrounding the church’s zoning requirements as it functions as a homeless shelter. The church made the announcement on Monday evening, saying the City is asking the court to shut down their Shelter By-the-Sea. This follows St. Paul’s original lawsuit, filed Jun. 16, seeking protections under the First Amendment and the Religious Land Use and Institutionalized Persons Act.

The Indian River Volunteer Fire Company said on July 20, the Indian River, Millsboro, Milton, Laurel and Dagsboro fire companies assisted the Georgetown Fire Company with a residential structure fire on Wood Branch Road.

(MARYLAND) – A major change is rolling out across Maryland for EBT customers. Governor Wes Moore’s office announced over the weekend the rollout of over 500 thousand new EBT cards for those who qualify in Maryland. The main difference for these new cards being that they have the NFC Chip that many of us use in our own credit and debit cards. We caught up with the Maryland Department of Human Services about the need for the upgrade and how it’s preventing fraud.

Image Courtesy of Brandywine Valley SPCA NEW CASTLE, Del. – Amid catastrophic flooding hitting Texas, the Brandywine Valley SPCA (BVSPCA) is stepping up to take in animals from the impacted areas. On Monday, one of the first rescue flights carrying homeless shelter animals out of destruction arrived in Delaware. The Wings of Rescue flight, in partnership with Best Friends Animal Society, brought dogs and cats who were already in shelters and available for adoption in Texas prior to the devastation.

SALISBURY, Md. – The Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) is seeking information into the unsolved disappearances of two Salisbury women. Authorities are looking for 26-year-old Shaquanna “Kita” Rutherford, who was last seen on May 19, 2025, in the area of Parsons Road and Fitzwater Drive in Salisbury. Rutherford was known to frequent the areas near the bridge by the La Quinta Inn, and by the Anchorage Health Center.

SNOW HILL, Md. – Since 1999, The Snow Hill Pharmacy has been the lone pharmacy in the town. But after they lost their partnership with the Worcester County Jail, their future is uncertain. The pharmacy has had to shorten their hours and even close their doors on Wednesdays and Saturdays. The jail told Snow Hill Pharmacy owner Jeff Sherr that they would be deciding to fill their prescriptions elsewhere, ending a decade long partnership.
