WMDT is the ABC-affiliated television station broadcasting on the Delmarva Peninsula that is licensed to Salisbury, Maryland. It broadcasts a high definition digital signal on UHF channel 47 from a transmitter in rural Wicomico County northeast of Mardela Springs. The tower is the second tallest structure in the state of Maryland. It can also be seen on Comcast channel 7 and in high definition on digital channel 210. Owned by Marquee Broadcasting, the station has studios on West Main Street (although its address is Downtown Plaza) in Salisbury. Source

Federalsburg Church Fire Ruled Arson, Reward Offered

Now, the ATF is offering a reward of up to $5,000 leading to the identification, arrest and conviction of the person or people responsible.
Talbot Co. Public Schools Launch Weapons Detection System
(EASTON, Md) – Football season kicks off at Easton High School Friday with a debut specifically for the community. After months of planning, Talbot County Public Schools have launched these new weapons detections systems for home Easton High football games. And they’re looking to make home football games safe for everyone watching. The Pilot Program was put into action this past spring by the school system.

Bill Chambers explained that when ranking states in terms of economic feasibility for small business, Maryland dropped from 26th to 49th.
Perdue Strikes Out Hunger

Our friends at perdue and the Delmarva shorebirds scored a big home run by completing the “perdue strike out Hunger challenge” where they put together a record number of meals for foodbanks. In total this campaign generated over one and a half million meals.

MILTON, Del.– 2026 is the year of the horse and the Southern Delaware Therapeutic Riding Center is galloping into the future when it comes to expanding access to their equine therapy programs. Executive Director for SDTR Jo Allegro-Smith says their programs can work for people that have physical and mental disabilities. “They are our four legged therapists,” Allegro-Smith said.
Crisfield Kicks Off 79th Annual Hard Crab Derby Weekend
Crisfield, Md. — The City of Crisfield kicked off the 79th Annual Hard Crab Derby Weekend Friday morning with a crab cooking contest, bringing people from around the state together in the spirt of friendly competition, with some cash on the line. The Hard Crab Derby weekend is the biggest event of the year in Crisfield, with visitors coming from around the country to attend some of the planned festivities.
Seizure of Marijuana after Traffic stop
Wicomico County, Md, – One man received a criminal citation following a drug investigation. Davion Douglas was observed by the Wicomico County Sheriff’s Office to be involved in what appeared to be a drug transaction between the occupants of a vehicle. Detectives conducted a traffic stop, with a K-9 scan of the vehicle testing positive. The vehicle was searched and reports say that a book bag was located containing 38 individual bags of suspected raw marijuana, totaling a weight of 133 grams.
