During three free foam parties each day, families can jump in and play. The foam is non-toxic, nonstick and safe for kids of all ages. The foam is even wheelchair safe. Parents were happy to let their children join in on the fun. The young and young at heart can also face interactive challenges at the Kids Celebration.
Allen County Fair hosts annual cheerleading competition
LIMA, Ohio (WLIO) - The Allen County Fair hosted its annual cheerleading competition Wednesday in the fair grandstands. Nine teams were on hand to compete for the coveted first-place trophy, with eight exhibition entrants also participating. The athletes were judged on several criteria, including the execution and creativity of their cheer routines. Leaps, bounds and backflips were all part of the competition as the cheerleaders displayed their athletic ability.

The Lima Community Aquatic Park's outdoor water park will close for the season on Labor Day, Sept. 7. The indoor facility will remain open year-round with temporary new hours beginning in September based on patron suggestions.
Lima police to showcase drones, K-9 during Coffee with a Cop
LIMA, Ohio (WLIO) — Lima Police Chief Curtis Hile is inviting residents to join him and other officers for a cup of coffee during the department's "Coffee with a Cop" event. The event will be held from 8 to 10 a.m. Thursday at Our Town Roast in Lima's Town Square. Residents will have an opportunity to talk with Hile and other police officers in a casual atmosphere. The Lima Police Department will also demonstrate some of its new equipment during the event.
Lima Municipal Building elevator to be out of service for six weeks
LIMA, Ohio (WLIO) — The city of Lima is reminding residents that the elevator at the Municipal Building will be out of service beginning Thursday, Aug. 27, as it is replaced. City offices will remain open during the elevator replacement, but residents who need to visit an office on an upper floor will need to use the stairs. Assistance will be available at the front desk to help direct visitors to the appropriate office. Because of the elevator replacement, Lima City Council will hold its Sept.
Outdoor water park season winding down at Lima Community Aquatic Park
LIMA, Ohio (WLIO) — There is still time to enjoy the summer weather at the Lima Community Aquatic Park, but the outdoor water park's season is coming to an end. Aquatic park officials announced that Labor Day, Monday, Sept. 7, will be the final day the outdoor water park will be open for the season. The indoor facility will remain open year-round, but its hours will change beginning in September. The indoor facility will open at 6 a.m. and close at 6 p.m. on Tuesdays and Thursdays.

LIMA, Ohio (WLIO) — Fair food is a staple at the Allen County Fair, with dozens of vendors offering everything from classic favorites to new food trends. Lee’s Concessions, located on the south side of the fairgrounds, is known for its secret-recipe giant breaded tenderloin sandwiches, corn dogs, pretzels and other fair favorites. Owner Misty Lee said the stand tries to source as much as possible locally, including the beef used for its loaded French fries and giant chili dogs.
Allen County 4-H helps fight hunger through annual Stock the Trailer
LIMA, OH (WLIO) â The Allen County 4-H and Junior Fair is helping fight hunger through its annual Stock the Trailer food drive. The program, sponsored by Farm Credit Mid-America, is held by junior fair programs in Ohio and Indiana to support local food banks. During the fair, different departments are collecting nonperishable food items and money to purchase food for the West Ohio Food Bank.
