Truck driver indicted after crashing into three VDOT vehicles, killing one worker
WAVERLY, Va. — A truck driver has been indicted after crashing a tractor trailer into three VDOT vehicles, killing one VDOT worker and injuring another, according to Virginia State Police. 59-year-old Thurman E. Taylor was indicted on charges of involuntary manslaughter and unlawful wounding for the crash in Waverly earlier this month. Police say Taylor already faced a failure to move over charge.

SUFFOLK, Va. — An undocumented Guatemalan immigrant seen in a now viral video outside a hospital in Suffolk being tackled and punched repeatedly during an arrest by U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement agents has agreed to voluntarily depart the country, an ICE spokesperson confirmed to News 3 Monday. The video of the incident taken near Sentara Belle Harbour Hospital shows officers tackling and striking the man, identified as Victor Alfredo Perez Martin.

A Vermont man who was 17 when he and a friend killed a pair of married Dartmouth College professors 25 years ago will have a chance at parole in about 20 years, when he reaches the age of one of his victims, a judge ruled Monday. Lawyers for Robert Tulloch, now 43, and prosecutors reached an agreement, avoiding a three-day planned resentencing hearing. In court Monday, a shackled Tulloch held his head down and appeared to breathe heavily as the horrific details of the stabbings were recounted.

CHESAPEAKE, Va. — A Chesapeake mother is now facing charges after her 5-year-old son accidentally shot himself in the finger on Sunday afternoon, police say. Ashley Michelle Hinton, 40, has been charged with felony child neglect and recklessly leave a loaded, unsecured firearm so as to endanger the life or limb of a child under the age of 14. Officers were called to the 1200 block of Ivy Stone Way around 3:30 p.m. after receiving a report that a child had shot themselves in the hand.
