OHIO — After enjoying sunshine, dry conditions, and low humidity, we've got some changes in the forecast just in time for the weekend. An area of low pressure will impact the Buckeye State from Saturday through Monday. Rain will develop from west to east on Saturday. Right now, the timing of the onset of the rain has slowed down. We could see some rain early in the day Saturday, but the best chance for rain will come during the afternoon and evening.

Strong to severe storms expected to impact Buckeye State

OHIO — Following several days of heat and smokey skies, a cold front will produce spotty showers and storms Saturday afternoon, with a risk of severe weather as we head into the evening. By early evening, expect an organized line of storms to move from north to south through the evening. Some storms will be capable of producing destructive wind gusts, heavy downpours that could lead to flash flooding, large hail, and frequent lightning. An isolated tornado also cannot be ruled out.

OHIO — Smoky skies will linger across the Buckeye State through late tonight. The smoke is making the air across the state unhealthy to breathe, so it’s a good idea to spend the rest of the day inside. An Air Quality Alert remains in effect through midnight. Some relief from the smoke and warmer-than-normal temperatures will arrive this afternoon and evening as a few storms become possible. An even better chance of storms moves in on Saturday.
