It is owned by Ideastream Public Media alongside classical music station WCLV (90.3 FM) and co-managed with Kent State University–owned WKSU (89.7 FM), the NPR member for Cleveland and Akron, and Cleveland State University–owned WCSB (89.3 FM). The four stations share studio facilities at the Idea Center on Playhouse Square in Downtown Cleveland; WVIZ's transmitter is located in suburban Parma, Ohio. Source

Closure of Akron's Northside Marketplace causes uncertainty for some local businesses
The sudden closure of Akron’s Northside Marketplace has caused some disappointment and uncertainty about the future in the city's small business community. The building, which hosted more than 100 vendors including artists, clothing shops and a restaurant, will close on July 31, owner Testa Companies announced July 18.
