Federal housing bill becomes law, including Maryland Congressman’s push to fill vacant homes
A bipartisan federal housing bill that includes legislation written by Maryland Rep. Johnny Olszewski has become law, creating a pilot program to help communities convert vacant and blighted properties into affordable housing. The 21st Century ROAD to Housing Act took effect Saturday, after a 10 day delay. Trump said he would sign the legislation only if Congress first approved separate voting restrictions legislation. When that didn’t happen, the bill became law without his signature.
