Given that there is a definite background removal rate of fibrinaloid microclots, albeit slower than that of normal non-amyloid clots, it is then mostly necessary to ensure that they do not form further. Consequently, we do not see a role for ‘clot-busters’ as have occasionally been used when acute COVID-19 is accompanied by Acute Respiratory Distress Syndrome [261].
