A Shaler man will remain in federal custody while he awaits trial on 12 charges related to a string of violent comments left on YouTube videos earlier this year threatening to “do a mass shooting” targeting, among others, specific politicians, transgender individuals, and Democrats. Other groups that 32-year-old Robert Hlovchiec allegedly made explicit threats against were Black and Hispanic individuals, Muslims, and liberals, according to testimony Friday and court records unsealed last week.
