What was your first job as a journalist?
I freelance right now. I am still looking for a full-time place to land.
Have you ever used a typewriter?
Only an antique one that my mother had when I was younger.
What does it mean to be a journalist?
I think journalists inform the masses not only of new, but also or new topics and ideas.
How do you prefer to be pitched on stories?
I like to receive emails.
What tools and software do you use to do your job?
I use Wordpress, the Office suite, Adobe CC, Mac, Final Cut Pro X, and many others.
What's your favorite social network?
Currently YouTube and Twitter.
Why did you become a journalist?
I was given the opportunity to interview a celebrity for a movie, and after that, I returned to school to perfect my craft.
Did you work for your high school newspaper? If so, what did you do there?
No, but I did work for the yearbook to gather stories.
What story are you most proud of writing or working on?
Some of my celebrity interviews because I learned a lot.
What advice can you offer to aspiring journalists?
I'm still aspiring; I need the advice!
What's the worst pitch you ever got?
I received a pitch with someone else's name and blog information, so it was clear that we were getting copy pasted.
What's your favorite drink?
Water with lemon
When you're not at a computer, where are you most likely to be?
Watching a movie or getting lost in a good book.
What's the most common misperception about your beat?
That I only offer only parenting advice because I'm a mom that blogs. Mommy blogging in itself has misperception.
