Relayer is an upcoming Strategy RPG releasing on PlayStation 4 and PlayStation 5, from the creators of the successful Strategy RPG God Wars. We had the honor and opportunity to interview Yoshimi Yasuda, Producer, Director, and Creator of Relayer. The interview was translated from Japanese to English by Kadokawa Games. GamersPack: To start things off, how would you explain what Relayer is about to someone new?

ScourgeBringer is a fast-paced and beautiful rogue-lite with adrenaline-filled combat and intense action. Its steep learning curve and high reliance on skill mean you won’t get too far unless you git gud. ScourgeBringer is kind of like Dead Cells meets Devil May Cry. It’s incredibly fast, and racking up sick combos is incredibly fun. But unlike many other rogue-lites, randomness and builds don’t have a lot of impact on your runs. This is a pure skill, no-nonsense kind of game.

2020 hasn’t been a very easy year for many people, and bleak games might not be what we need right now. Luckily, KreatureKind is a nicecore card game about kindness, hugging monsters, and being a good friend. KreatureKind is a role-playing game about inclusiveness and kindness. While we will be facing monsters, which represent real-life problems, we won’t be killing them or hurting them at all. Instead, we will be supporting them with hugs, active listening, and memes.
