4. Materials and Methods 4.1. Plant Material A. sativa L. seeds from the Saudi Arabian variety (cv. AlShinen) were gathered from private fields in Al-Shinen, which is east of Hai’l. Before incubation, 30 mL of a 0.5% sodium hypochlorite solution was applied to nearly 60 seeds and left on for 15 to 20 min. After that, 50 mL of sterile water was used to wash the seeds five times to eliminate the remaining sodium hypochlorite.
