Dear Editors-in-Chief, The role of speech-language pathologists in oncology has historically been associated with head and neck cancer. The functional impacts resulting from treatment directly affect voice/oral communication and swallowing/nutrition. However, restricting the contribution of Speech-Language Pathology (SLP) to this context, limits recognition of the fundamental role these professionals can play across different types of cancer, age groups, and stages of oncological care.
