Let’s be honest — being a teen today is tough. School, friends, social media, figuring out who you are — it’s a lot. Add in anxiety about the future or just that feeling of being stuck, and it can get overwhelming fast. As a parent, watching your teen struggle hurts. You want to help, but you’re not sure how. And as a teen, it’s frustrating to feel “off” but not know what to do about it. The truth is, mental health challenges don’t always look like big red flags. Sometimes, it’s quiet.

Anxiety doesn’t show up the same way in every teen. Some teens are visibly nervous or overwhelmed. They’ll tell you their thoughts are racing, that they feel like something bad is going to happen , even when everything seems fine on the outside. Others, though, hold it all in. They might seem tired all the time, avoid things they used to enjoy, or have frequent stomachaches or headaches with no clear explanation. As a parent, it can be painful to witness. You want to help.
