SPOKANE, Wash. - If you have a bottle of unused prescription medication that you'd like to get rid of, the Spokane Police Department says there is a right way, and wrong ways, to dispose of these drugs. "You definitely do not want to flush them down the toilet," said SPD's Tricia Leming. "We would like to protect our aquafir and our water and that stuff winds up giong into our city's water." The Spokane Police Department also warns against simply throwing these unused medications in the trash.
