It’s been seven years since K-pop superstars BTS have been in Chicago. But the group’s fans have kept the fire burning during that time. Earlier this month Gov. JB Pritzker declared Aug. 27 and 28 “BTS Day” in Illinois as a result of petitioning by Chicago BTS Army and the HANA Center, an immigrant advocacy nonprofit in Irving Park.

Chatting With Trophy Wife on Being Pathetic, Getting Older, and Making It

“Can you get pathetic for me?” croons Trophy Wife’s songwriter and front woman McKenzie Iazzetta. The line is a firecracker start for the Brooklyn-based alt-rock band’s song “So Hard,” which is one of three singles released off their sophomore album, Pathetic, that dropped today. It follows their 2024 album, Get Ugly. Pathetic’s two other singles, “Paragraph” and “Kind of Girl I Am,” retain the same haunting yet arresting sound.

Chinatown’s beloved Tasty Place Bakery is closing — for now

Tasty Place Bakery and Cafe is one of the few places remaining in Chinatown that is a true hub for local residents. For just a few dollars, you can get a satisfying snack or meal. “The food is good and it’s cheap,” a regular confirmed, between sips of coffee with his friends at the restaurant, 2339A S. Wentworth Ave., Tuesday morning. The place was packed and filled with the bass of chatter.
