Mitochondria-localized circRNA BRAKE restrains adipogenesis under nutrient overload by disrupting ATP synthase assembly in mice
Abstract Impaired adipogenesis contributes to obesity-associated metabolic disorders, in which mitochondrial dysfunction plays an important role. Emerging evidence suggests that mitochondria-localized circular RNAs (circRNAs) influence mitochondrial function; however, whether they regulate adipogenesis and systemic metabolism is unclear.

Methods: This multicenter study conducted active surveillance of patients with acute respiratory infections (ARIs) at eight sentinel hospitals in a large district of southern China from August 1, 2024, to December 31, 2025.
Driving a green energy transition with halide perovskite solar cells
Abstract Halide perovskites have revolutionized photovoltaics, achieving efficiencies that rival those of crystalline silicon. However, as the technology nears industrialization, the focus must shift from power conversion efficiency to the holistic pillars of reliability, scalability and circularity. This Review evaluates the technical and economic feasibility of large-scale perovskite manufacturing, appraising ecological impacts across the entire life cycle.
Homogenous FACsPbI 3 Perovskite Solar Cells Enabled by a Seed-Facilitated Cation Exchange Strategy
1 Introduction Incorporation of small amounts of Cs+ into the formamidinium (FA) site of FAPbI3 would form FACs mixed perovskite (FACsPbI3), which could enhance thermal and moisture stability by promoting the formation of the stable α-phase and relaxing crystal lattice strain [1-13].

Abstract Objective: To analyze the epidemiological characteristics of hand, foot and mouth disease (HFMD) reinfection cases in southern China and systematically evaluate key influencing factors from individual characteristics, epidemic cycles, and regional features, aiming to provide evidence for targeted prevention and control strategies. Methods: We extracted HFMD cases in a district of southern China from the China Information System for Disease Control and Prevention (2008–2024).
Bioactivity‐guided discovery of two novel hybrid polyketides with antifungal activity against phytopathogens
1 INTRODUCTION Phytopathogenic fungi (PF) represent a major threat to global agricultural productivity and food security, responsible for substantial preharvest and postharvest crop losses.1-3 Chemical synthetic fungicides have served as the cornerstone of fungal disease management for decades,4, 5 yet their intensive and often indiscriminate use has precipitated multiple challenges: the rapid evolution of resistant fungal strains, environmental contamination, and potential health hazards.6-8...
Galectin-3-integrin α5β1 phase separation disrupted by advanced glycation end-products impairs diabetic wound healing in rodents - Nature Communications
Abstract Diabetic foot ulcers are severe diabetic complications, and promoting impaired angiogenesis is essential for wound healing. Pro-angiogenic galectin-3 is elevated in diabetic serum and promotes systemic insulin resistance that may impair wound healing. However, the exact role of galectin-3 in the regulation of diabetic wound healing remains unclear.
Impurity-healing interface engineering for efficient perovskite submodules - Nature
Abstract One issue that always strands the scaling-up development of perovskite photovoltaics is the significant efficiency drop when enlarging the device area, which is caused by the inhomogeneous distribution of defected sites1-3.

Depressed P3-O3’ phase transitions in O3-type layered cathode for advanced sodium-ion batteries
Depressed P3-O3’ phase transitions in O3-type layered cathode for advanced sodium-ion batteries O3-type layered oxides are regarded as the promising cathode materials for sodium-ion batteries (SIBs). However, they commonly exhibit complex phase transitions and sluggish Na+ kinetics, thus incurring their poor capacity retention and rate capability. Here, O3-Na0.993Ni0.382Mn0.428Cu0.098Sn0.049O2 is obtained with Cu2+ and Sn4+ doped into the transition-metal layers.

Highly Crystalized Cl‐doped SnO2 Nanocrystals for Stable Aqueous Dispersion Toward High‐Performance Perovskite Photovoltaics
Tin dioxide (SnO2) with high conductivity and low photocatalytic activity has been reported as one of the best candidates for highly efficient electron transport layer (ETL) in perovskite solar cell (PSC). The state-of-the-art SnO2 layer is achieved by chemical bath deposition with tunable properties, while the commercial SnO2 nanocrystals (NCs) with low tunability still face the necessity of further improvement.

Dual‐Function Presodiation with Sodium Diphenyl Ketone towards Ultra‐stable Hard Carbon Anodes for Sodium‐Ion Batteries
Abstract Sodium diphenyl ketone is applied as a reducing reagent to compensate irreversible Na uptake at oxygen-containing functional groups and react with defective carbon for quasi-metallic Na to initiate robust SEI. It leads to ICE of 99.2 % and capacity retention of ≈100 % for 700 cycles in the full cells of presodiated hard carbon//Na3V2(PO4)3.
Single-cell RNA sequencing highlights the functional role of human endogenous retroviruses in gallbladder cancer
Summary Background Gallbladder cancer (GBC), the most common malignancy of the biliary tract, shows late diagnosis and low survival rate and requires continued search for new diagnostic biomarkers and therapeutic targets. Human endogenous retroviruses (HERVs) are specifically prone to be reactivated in diverse cancers and are implicated in cancer progression and immunotherapy. Methods Single-cell RNA sequencing was performed on tumor tissues and paired adjacent tissues from 4 GBC patients.

Advances on Manganese-Oxide-Based Cathodes for Na-Ion Batteries
Sodium-ion batteries (SIBs) are recognized as a promising alternative for lithium-ion batteries (LIBs) in large-scale energy storage applications, because of the low cost and abundant sodium resources. Electrode materials govern the electrochemical performance of SIBs and are crucial to their development. Sodium manganese oxide (NaxMnO2) is widely studied as cathode materials of SIBs, because of its structural diversity and rich manganese resources.

The origins of cannabis smoking: Chemical residue evidence from the first millennium BCE in the Pamirs
Abstract Cannabis is one of the oldest cultivated plants in East Asia, grown for grain and fiber as well as for recreational, medical, and ritual purposes. It is one of the most widely used psychoactive drugs in the world today, but little is known about its early psychoactive use or when plants under cultivation evolved the phenotypical trait of increased specialized compound production. The archaeological evidence for ritualized consumption of cannabis is limited and contentious.

Robust and flexible bulk superhydrophobic material from silicone rubber/silica gel prepared by thiol-ene photopolymerization
Robust and flexible bulk superhydrophobic material from silicone rubber/silica gel prepared by thiol-ene photopolymerization Although bulk superhydrophobic materials are considered as promising candidates for durable anti-wetting, they are still subjected to some challenges such as their complicated fabrication process and inherent brittleness. In the present study, we prepared a robust and flexible bulk superhydrophobic film by a facile “UV curing + solvent evaporation” method.
