1 Introduction In rural areas, sheep production plays a crucial role in the financial security of smallholder farmers (Wodajo et al. 2020). In most parts of Ethiopia, they are kept in enormous numbers, but their output does not match the country's expectations of potential. Low sheep production is primarily caused by inadequate nourishment.

1 Introduction In Ethiopia, limited access to quality and quantity of feed resources is a significant challenge to livestock productivity. Livestock primarily rely on natural pastures and crop residues (Getahun and Tegene 2019). The growing human population has increased pressure on land, reducing grazing areas and heightening reliance on crop residues for ruminant feeding (Tesfaye et al. 2005).
