1 Introduction Infected diabetic wounds are not merely bacteria-colonized skin lesions, but are perpetuated by a vicious cycle of oxidative stress, immune response, and metabolic imbalance induced by diabetes [1-3]. Bacterial invasion triggers a rapid oxidative response to eliminate pathogens, but persistent hyperglycemia and infection exacerbate reactive oxygen species (ROS) production, inflammatory signaling, and mitochondrial damage [4, 5].
