Silver Ball Chaos
Playing pinball offers community and friendship, one game at a time. (Photos: Courtesy Michael Adams) When we were kids, the little league coach would line us up after every game. The other team would line up in opposition, and we’d pass them, our hands extended to greet theirs.
How Much Was That Coffee?
The 7Brew menu shows a wide variety of hot, iced and chilled drinks. Photo by Micheal A Adams, Sr. That cup may feel like salvation at 8 a.m., but it comes with a price tag that would make your granddaddy shake his head. A typical drink at 7Brew or Starbucks runs about five or six dollars. If students grab one a day, do the math and that little habit turns into roughly $30 a week just on coffee drinks. Then there’s lunch.
The Black dandy’s triumph: The Met Museum’s ‘Superfine, Tailoring Black Style’
Searching throughout time and around the world, “Superfine, Tailoring Black Style,” is the Metropolitan Museum of Art Costume Institute’s newest exhibition. Through arresting images and actual attire, it valorizes Black men as dandies. Juxtapositions can be dramatic. Depictions of enslaved Africans dressed exotically in silver and gold embellished liveries show objectified men whose very being was meant to advertise their “owners’” wealth and power.
Darren makes final plea to win back Nancy in Hollyoaks - with unexpected outcome
Darren Osborne (Ashley Taylor Dawson) isn’t giving up on his marriage to Nancy (Jessica Fox) in Hollyoaks as he makes a last-ditch attempt to win back the affection of his one true love. Nancy has come to believe that Darren cheated her with Kat Omari (Sonia Ibrahim) after Frankie (Isabelle Smith) found them in bed together at Weirside View. Kat got into bed with Darren after he fell asleep following a night of drinking in a bid to make Frankie believe that her dad had cheated.

Tech Talk: Preparing guitars for a cross-country move
Our big, beautiful U-Haul moving truck. Note the parking job with the trailer attached. Very proud. All images: Michael James Adams Like many other folks at the moment, my wife and have I decided to retreat from the Los Angeles area for the greener pastures – both figuratively and literally – of my Pennsylvania hometown.
Swann Street, by Three
about Three Washington, D.C. Formed in 1986, Three was Jeff Turner, Steve Niles, and Mark Haggerty (all of Gray Matter) and Jeff Nelson. The band did a few short tours and recorded at Geoff's home studio as well as Inner Ear. Things were looking up for them, but the band self-destructed before their album came out. Three and Happy Go Licky played their last shows together on New Year's Day, 1988. ... more dischord.com
Tech Talk: Offset vibrato companion
Ever since the Jazzmaster first hit the scene in 1958, the rest of us have been playing catch-up. It’s true that Leo Fender’s unique vision wasn’t universally accepted at the time, but in the modern era the offset body shape and sound is as beloved as ever, breaking from its former underdog status and taking its place among the other revered models of the Fender factory lineup.
OnePlus Nord Released Today: A Good Mid-Range Smartphone
The OnePlus Nord phone has been released today. Another entry into the mid range smartphone eco-system, the Nord is a pretty incredible phone to look at. Here’s what to expect from the Nord, including the price in the UK. As you’ll already know, the OnePlus Nord was released today in the UK, Tuesday 4th August 2020. Summer Fashion Sales: Gant & Tommy Hilfiger Tees
If there’s one thing I’m not short of it’s T Shirts. I have too many, but as I’ve said many times before: Can you have too many T-shirts? The sales are so good right now it’s hard to resist, and I didn’t. I’ve added a few extra tees, and got myself these from Gant and Tommy Hilfiger. As you’ll have seen I recently got a few Calvin Klein T Shirts along with another No Nationallity tee too. I was having a look around and saw these two tees which were some of the biggest bargains I’ve came across.
11th July 2010 - 10 Years Ago Spain Won The World Cup
10 years ago…10 YEARS AGO!!! I cannot believe that it has been 10 years since Spain won the World Cup! If you didn’t already know, I am a Spain supporter, and have been since I was a kid. The pinnacle in the football world is winning the World Cup, and finally, on 11th July 2010, Spain won their first World Cup! Time has flown by… It’s one of those situations that kind of feels like yesterday, but it also feels like an entire lifetime away, and in some ways, it is.
New In My Wardrobe: No Nationality Ethan Pima T Shirt In White
If there’s one brand I’ve really liked in the past couple of years, it’s been No Nationality aka NN07. Since it’s the summer and the sales are now on, I had to get myself another tee from them, this time in white. If you don’t know anything about the No Nationality brand, they’re a Danish brand that’s all about contemporary and minimalist style.
New In The Wardrobe: 2 Calvin Klein T-Shirts
It’s summer, I’ve recently had my birthday and there’s sales on everywhere…I couldn’t help myself and bought myself not one but two Calvin Klein T Shirts! Can you ever have too many tees? Clearly not if you ask me. I saw the grey Calvin Klein T Shirt in the sale and was going to buy it, and then I cam across the blue version. I really like the staple colours of navy, white, black and grey, so getting the grey was an easy decision.
A New Summer Shirt - Here's My Flamingo Print Shirt
I went and got myself a flamingo print shirt! I’ve wanted a summer shirt for many years, but I haven’t bothered to get one. A long while back I saw a black shirt with a flamingo repeat pattern print, but I decided that I wouldn’t get it. Ironically it looks like we’re not going to have much of a summer to go out, but this year I decided I’d jump and get one. I saw this flamingo print shirt at H&M, and they had a member price on it, so I ended up getting it.
I Got Myself A New TV! - This Is The Samsung QE55Q85R Review
It’s been a while since I had a new TV. My old one had developed a fault, and I’ve needed it replacing for months. Finally I got round to it, and got myself a Samsung QE55Q85R. You might be wondering: What’s the picture quality like? What’s the user experience like? Well, here’s everything you need to know about it. First off I should start with my old TV, because that’s all I had known for around 10 years. It was a Sony Z series, which was more or less the top range TV from Sony at the time.
Slim Fit Patterned Joggers - Comfortable Modern Stylish Outfit
I finally bought a pair of joggers I have been looking at since last year, I got myself a pair of patterned joggers. They’re slim fit, slightly cropped and not only comfortable to wear but modern too. Joggers and comfort clothing has made a bit of a come back in the past year or so. Far from seen as sloppy, these days you can get far better and more flattering cuts and fits. My favourite fit of clothing personally is slim fit.
Life After Lockdown - It's Weird!
Hey guys! It’s been a while since I posted a life type of update, possibly because not a lot has been going on for any of us! Lockdown has been a strange time, and I think life after lockdown it is going to feel weird. I have been living in the lock down for around 13 weeks, but this week I have started to gradually to come out of it, and trying to get back to some normality. For the first time I had to go to the shop, which felt so strange.
A Visual Guide To Every World Cup Football: A Nostalgic Look Back At Match Balls
Balls…Footballs. Once they were just round piece of equipment which were absolutely required to play a game of football. But for the past several decades, they’ve became a lot more. I have always loved the World Cup, and the balls have played a bigger and bigger part in that. I thought it was about time I done a visual guide on all of the balls, and the stories behind them, both in historic terms and my own memories with them.
The Best 14 Cheap Aftershaves For Men - Smell Good On A Budget
Men’s fragrances are hugely popular right now, and we’re all spending lots of money on them. There’s a large range, not only designers, but specialised perfume houses, along with different strengths such as eau de parfum. But if you’re on a budget or don’t want to spend a whole lot of cash, there’s plenty of bargains to be had. One reason why they’re cheap can be because they’re now old.
Tom Ford Grey Vetiver EDP Review: Here's How It Smells [A Men's Fragrance Review]
Tom Ford Grey Vetiver is the second EDP I’ve had from Tom Ford, with Noir being the first which I got for Christmas in 2013. Grey Vetiver was released in 2009 and the bottle is the same style as some previous Tom Ford bottles from the masculine line. It’s a flat, ribbed, translucent style with a stylish silver front plate, and is as classy as it smells. The fragrance is quite a difficult one to describe, it’s nothing like I have tried before.
Tom Ford Noir Eau De Parfum For Men Review
A new fragrance I recently got was Noir by Tom Ford. This is the EDP, which was released in 2012 so is a relatively new scent, but Tom Ford also released an EDT with the same name, Noir in 2013 which I liked, but is a different scent to this. Both bottles are the same style, however the EDP is a black bottle, and the EDT is a frosted clear bottle. Once you smell Noir you’ll notice it’s a really warm and inviting scent straight away.
GOLF WANG x Levi's 501 Jeans & Jacket Collaboration
Today is Levi’s 501 day, and GOLF WANG has collaborated with the infamous denim brand to unveil two pieces of stand out clothing. These are a pair of 501 jeans along with a trucker jacket. As you can see, both are bold pieces, sporting a colourful rainbow like pattern by the way of polka dots. The base colour of both the jeans and the jacket is a ecru off-white type of colour, with a minimalist design approach.
Football Restart Dates After The Coronavirus Around Europe (With Map)
Who else is missing football? We all are! It seems like we’ve been without football for such a long time, in fact it’s true, we have. Of course in times such as this, health is absolutely the most important thing. More or less everything, including football, has to take a back seat. But it has to, and will resume some time.
Ole Henriksen TRUTH Banana Bright Eye Creme: Does It Work? [Review]
I wanted to get some eye cream for under my eyes. After reading and a bit of searching, I decided that I’d go for Ole Henriksen TRUTH Banana Bright Eye Creme. Does it work? Here’s how I have been getting on over the past several weeks. I have always thought that under my eyes has been a little on the dark side. I wouldn’t say I have black circles under my eyes or it’s that bad, but I’ve always thought that they could be a little brighter. When it comes to skincare, I already have a ton of products.
iPhone SE 2020 - I've Got One! Worth The Upgrade? Here's My Review & Camera Test
The excitement of getting a brand new phone…It’s been a while! Six years in fact, but I have finally found a worthy successor to my beloved iPhone 6, the iPhone SE. What upgrade some may say…The iPhone SE looks very familiar, and that’s not a bad thing. Here’s everything you need to know about the iPhone SE, if you should upgrade, and that all important camera test. What Is The iPhone SE? First of all, if you don’t know, Apple released the iPhone SE a few weeks ago.
Fun Things To Do When You're Bored At Home: Stuck Inside? Here's How To Pass The Time

Gangs Of London TV Series On Sky Atlantic - Worth The Watch [No Spoilers!]
A new TV series has come at the right time! I love re-watching my old favourites, but it’s always nice to watch something new. Gangs of London is on SKY Atlantic and was released on 23th April, but I’ve just been watching it now. Here’s what it’s all about, with no spoilers for you! 😉 I am only 3 episodes in, but it’s been very good so far. The first episode is pretty big and heavy, just over an hour and a half long, so you’ll want to get comfortable.
Primark Sales - From £650 To £0 Over The Lockdown (And All Fashion Related Searches Down)
Primark announced yesterday that it’s fashion sales are at zero. That’s a fall from £650 to £0, nothing. The only thing that was surprising about this was that it was not surprising at all, considering Primark do not have an ecommerce platforum, only sell on the high street and we’ve been on lock down for weeks.
The iPhone SE 2020 Has Been Announced! Here's Everything You Need To Know (Including How & When You Can Get It)
Is it the worst kept secret ever, or was it just wishful thinking that came true? Either way, yesterday Apple announced a new phone to it’s line up, the iPhone SE. If you’re like me and you don’t like huge phones, this could be an interesting device. Here’s everything you need to know about the new iPhone SE, including how and when you can get it in the UK. You might be thinking, iPhone SE, that sounds familiar, hasn’t there already been one? You’d be right.
The Best 90s Britpop Playlist For Your House Party
Happy weekend! It’s the Easter weekend, which means it’s a long one. However we’ve been in the house for so long that this weekend just seems like any weekend we’ve had over the past few weeks. We can’t go out, so we have to stay home and party. Every party needs some good tunes, so this week I have made a best of 90s Britpop playlist which I am calling the Mostly Britpop Playlist (just in-case there’s any people out there who are hung up on the term Britpop!).
90s Europop And Eurodance Playlist In The Times Of Lockdown - Party At Home!
Hey guys, I hope you are well and happy weekend! I love music, and it’s what we all need at a time like now. I used to do a weekly (then monthly) playlist, but I haven’t posted any music or playlists for months, and have kind of got away from that. Since we can’t go to bars, clubs or anything else, we have to stay at home and make our own entertainment. And so, I have created a 90’s Europop and Eurodance playlist which you can listen to.
Nike Air Max 90 SP: Medal Pack - Gold Silver & Bronze Trainers
It was Air Max Day last week, and you might have thought that I forgot about it, but I didn’t! Since it’s been a crazy few weeks I didn’t feature it or buy any trainers, but if I did, it would have been a silver pair from the Air Max 90 SP Medal Pack. Here’s everything you need to know. If you’re unaware, Nike has done an Air Max Day for several years, and the date is 26th March, each year.
CK One - 90's Retro Men's Fragrance Review
I love 90’s style, and Calvin Klein has been making a huge comeback with it’s 90’s retro stuff. I got the 90’s reissue T-Shirt which I love, and I thought I would get one of my first ever aftershaves, CK One. CK One was probably my first fragrance, I remember getting that and also Cerruti 1881, probably when I was around 15-16 years old.
212 Sexy Men By Carolina Herrera Fragrance Review
This week’s fragrance review takes a look at something a little older which is still available to buy today; 212 Sexy Men by Carolina Herrera. This scent was released in 2006, and I bought it not soon after. It was in fact the very first fragrance I bought from Carolina Herrera, and a one which I loved. I was looking for something a little bit different that not too many people were wearing at the time, and I came across this.
Bvlgari MAN In Black Review
As you may know, Bvlgari MAN is one of my favourite fragrances which I own. I just love it, and I have since I got it in 2011. Since then there has been MAN extreme, and their latest one is this, Bvlgari MAN In Black. If you don’t know about the brand it’s called Bulgari, but stylised as BVLGARI from the classic latin alphabet, and is a premium, high end luxury goods brand.
MR Burberry Review
One of the most acclaimed fragrances of 2016 is the first to be reviewed on Michael 84 in 2017. For Christmas I got the latest scent from the house of Burberry, simply called MR. Burberry, and it’s a good one. Let’s start as always with the bottle, and it’s a plain and simple rectangular shaped bottle, made with clear glass, a plastic top and with the added touch of decoration in the way of a fabric fashioned bow.
The Coronavirus Stops Football Worldwide Including The Premier League
It’s the worldwide crisis which has dominated the news in the past several weeks, and sadly it’s probably just the beginning. Obviously I am talking about the Coronavirus aka COVID19. This is serious, people are dying and it’s a terrible contagious infection sweeping the globe. People and health are number 1, that goes without saying. I could write about toilet roll shortages and the stockpiling of pasta, but we’re probably sick of talking about that.
Uomo by Ermenegildo Zegna Review
When it comes to fragrances by Ermenegildo Zegna, I do have a few. They are always really nice and pleasant scents, so when I got the chance to check out Uomo by Ermenegildo Zegna, I had to give it a shot. Ermenegildo Zegna is an Italian luxury fashion house, more known for it’s suits than it’s scents. But as mentioned I’ve got a few of their fragrances, and they’re all pretty decent, inoffensive types of scents. I wondered what Uomo would bring to their collection of scents.
Quitter Twitter - It's A Year Later, What's Changed And Has It Improved Health/Life?
This week back in 2019 I quit Twitter, and it was a long time coming. I wrote a post back then about how Twitter is toxic in my opinion, this was on the back of myself declaring the platform “not the same” in 2016. So, a year has past, what has changed, does it improve health and lift in general. Here’s everything which has happened since I stopped using Twitter on 28th February 2019. Now you’ll probably see that I still have a profile, and you’ll still see me posting stuff. So did I actually leave?
Hugo Red Fragrance By Hugo Boss Fragrance Review - Here's How It Smells
This weeks’ fragrance review is an older scent, but one I haven’t featured on the blog for some bizarre reason, this is Hugo Red from Hugo Boss. Hugo Red was released in 2013, and I bought my bottle back then, but I haven’t wrote or feature it. It’s one of many from Hugo Boss, but this is different from the usual BOTTLED lineup which has a massive cult following and plenty of admirers, including myself. What is Hugo Red? First off as always, I’ll start with the bottle, mine is a 75ml bottle.
The Brits 2020: The Best Brits Awards For A Long While?
I watched the BRITS yesterday as I usually do each year, but they never seem what they used to be. These days the shows always seem a bit drab, boring, too scripted and nothing exciting ever really happens…But The BRITS 2020 was a good one! There were performances from Mabel who opened the show, Lewis Capaldi, Harry Styles, Lizzo, Dave, Billie Eilish, Stormzy, Celeste and the show closed with Rod Stewart with Ronnie Wood and Kenney Jones.
CK One Capsule Clothing Collection From Calvin Klein
As you should know by now if there’s one trend in fashion I have liked over the past 5 or 6 years it’s been the re-birth of the 90’s trend. One of the brands at the centre of that has been Calvin Klein, and they’re at it again with their CK One Capsule Collection. The name CK One should ring a bell, it’s a fragrance from Calvin Klein which has been around since the 90’s, it’s coveted and I love CK One.
Valentines Day 2020
Happy Valentines Michael Day! The tradition for normal people to celebrate Valentines Day, but if you’ve been reading this blog since day one, it’s been a tradition to have Michael Day. It’s not a tradition I can stop, and why would I!? 😀 It’s an absolute eating and drinking fest, and the only food which is allowed is terrible food which is not good for you. That would be lots and lots of chocolate and various carbs, not forgetting lots of alcohol later.
Armani Diamonds Fragrance For Men Review
I was having a look through my fragrances to see what I could feature this week, and came across an old scent which I’ve never talked about before, Armani Diamonds For Men. Armani is known for so many of it’s incredible scents, possible the most favoured, Acqua Di Gio which is almost universally loved. There’s plenty others, but Armani Diamonds, which was released way back in 2008 never seemed to get too much love. I did buy it back then, and here’s what it’s all about.
Tech Talk: Hardtail Heartache
If there’s anything that keeps me motivated to post my work on Instagram, it’s the belief that any musician, regardless of skill level, can become at least partially self-sufficient when it comes to guitar maintenance. Whether it’s basic stuff like stringing a guitar properly or more complicated procedures such as swapping pickups or intonation adjustment, I really do believe that with a bit of practice and patience, anyone can learn to do what we techs do.
The Dolly Parton Challenge - Photos On LinkedIn, Facebook, Instagram & Tinder
Unless you’ve been living under a rock, or perhaps not on social media and especially Instagram, you’ll not have missed what’s being called the Dolly Parton Challenge. If you don’t know, it’s where people upload 4 different photos which are suited best to their profiles on the different social networks. This has been named the Dolly Parton Challenge as she was the first, or one of the first’s to do this, or at least the one who got it to trend.
Stand Out Smart Tailoring With Twisted Tailor
When it comes to tailoring and suits, there’s two ways you can go: The classic and traditional route, or something which is going to turn heads. If you want to stand out, Twisted Tailor is a brand you want to take a look at. Their designer suits are inspired from aspects of British culture & Influenced by the gritty, non-conformist attitude of the punk era. They are not just stand out patterns without substance.
NIVEA Men Deep Clean Shave Shaving Gel Review: I Put It To The Test
When it comes to shaving gel, and most male grooming products, I am quite regimented in what I use. By that I mean when I find a good product, I tend to stick to it. But I’ve been trying a new product, NIVEA Men Deep Shaving Gel, to see what it’s all about. I’ve already mentioned that I’ve got the NIVEA Men Deep Range, which has a large selection of products covering almost everything a man needs when it comes to grooming. This includes a shave gel, which is what I have here.
What Is Athlesiure? A Guide On The Casual Comfort Style Trend
It’s a term which has been coined for a couple of years, but you might be thinking: What is athlesiure? In Brief athleisure is a modern take on wearing sportswear as your daily outfit. In the age where a lot of guys are going to the gym, sportswear is very much in, and not only worn when working out, but also as casualwear. Here’s everything you need to know about athlesiure: how to wear it, key pieces and what it all means.
