– The Norfolk State men's basketball program and head coachreleased their 2017-18 schedule on Friday. Non-conference home games against Niagara, Bowling Green, Kent State and Elizabeth City State and an exhibition against Virginia State highlight the home non-conference slate for the Spartans.In all, NSU will play 15 games at Joseph Echols Hall this year, including the normal eight MEAC games and seven non-conference matchups.

Troy, NY — In March, the Liberty League announced its men’s college squash award winners. University of Rocehster senior Ryosei Kobayashi capped his LIberty League career by being named Player of the Year. He was also recognized with the Men’s College Squash Association’s Skillman Award. Kobayashi become the first Rochester player since 2012 to receive the honor. For the eighth season in a row, a player from St. Lawrence was named Rookie of the Year. This season the honor went to Mohamed El Gawarhy.

– Norfolk State opened up its 2016-17 campaign by finishing second at the Virginia Union Invitational this weekend. The No. 23 Spartan bowling team tallied a 13-1 overall record and did not lose a match until falling in the tournament final.The Spartans won all six matches on Friday in Baker action and followed that up with five wins in five contests on Saturday in team play.
