Speaking as a longtime Patagonia fan, I love this conversation with Jon, and the transparency with which this business seeks to grow in an ethical, planet first way. The main part of this interview that sticks out to me as an opportunity for Patagonia to make meaningful change is about partway through, when Jon is pressed to reconcile the integration of AI into everyday business practices with the high toll that AI takes from this environment via energy and water consumption.

I have tried several Elizabeth Daly novels over the years and have generally had a good time with them. As much as I have enjoyed myself, I was waiting to find one that really caught my imagination. Well, at long last I am pleased to say I found what I was looking for. Daly’s The Book of the Dead is easily the most interesting of her books I have read so far. The mystery is a rather unconventional one, in part because it lacks an obvious crime.
