1. Introduction Cool materials are advanced building materials designed to mitigate the Urban Heat Island (UHI) effect and reduce energy consumption in buildings. These materials are distinguished by their high solar reflectance (albedo) and thermal emittance. These properties enable cool materials to maintain lower surface temperatures by reflecting more sunlight and releasing absorbed heat more effectively compared to conventional materials.
