Opinion: Working together to sustain the Seal River watershed
By: Stephanie Thorassie and Michael Nadler Posted: 2:00 AM CDT Thursday, Mar. 13, 2025 Every year at this time, almost 200,000 caribou migrate through the Seal River Watershed in Northern Manitoba. This sweeping landscape helps nurture the caribou throughout the winter. In spring, the abundant wetland and upland habitat in the watershed welcomes hundreds of thousands of waterfowl and migratory birds who nest and raise their young here.

Why Biden should follow the Gerald Ford precedent
April 4, 2023 I’ve not heard this from anyone, but it occurs to me that the best political and personal move for Biden would be to follow the Gerald Ford precedent and grant a full pardon to Donald Trump. Although Trump is currently under indictment in a state court, Biden could pardon him for alleged federal campaign law violations and any other federal offenses that might allow DA Bragg to use a minor state infraction on which the statute of limitations has expired.
A simple plan: Free Bus Ride to Sanctuary
I love what Texas Governor Abbott is doing in giving illegal entrants the option of being bussed from Texas to D.C. and now New York City. With U.S. Customs and Border Protection reporting well over 200,000 southwest land border encounters each month and no end in sight to illegal border crossings under this presidency, I think the governor should significantly expand the program.
Ruling: SEC Inhouse Courts are Unconstitutional - What's the Impact?
Like it has with many others, the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission filed administrative proceedings against George Jarkesy Jr. in 2013. Unlike many others, however, Mr. Jarkesy did not sit back and accept the SEC’s authority to proceed before an administrative law judge (ALJ).
The Medicare 'free' at-home COVID virus test boondoggle
February 5, 2022 Medicare recipients at first were left out of the "free" COVID tests that private insurers were required to provide. Well, now we old folks are included among those able to grab eight free tests per month. reports: Medicare, which covers roughly 60 million Americans, will provide free over-the-counter rapid coronavirus tests beginning in the spring, according to the federal government's Medicare and Medicaid agency.
Biden’s Nobel laureate game
In his announcement Friday, before leaving for Rome that “...we have a historic economic framework,” President Biden went on to say, Seventeen Nobel Prize winners in economics have said it will lower the inflationary pressures on the economy. And over the next 10 years, it will not add to the deficit at all; it will actually reduce the deficit, according to the economists.

Suspicious timing of Pfizer vaccine announcement
On November 9th, Pfizer announced that its COVID-19 vaccine candidate demonstrated efficacy of over 90% based on the mix of 94 cases between the placebo and vaccine groups in its Phase 3 clinical trial. This was extremely exciting news for the country less than a week after the presidential election.
Dr. Fauci: ‘I have to disagree’ with Trump on coronavirus
American Thinker has run several articles like this one about Dr. Anthony Fauci’s political bias (which is his right). But the Miami Herald published an article that was aimed at undermining President Trump, which actually contains compelling evidence that Fauci's bias or ignorance is affecting what he is telling the American people about Covid-19.

Rahm Emanuel can’t help himself, but what about the Wall Street Journal?
Rahm Emanuel makes some suggestions that are worthy of consideration in his Wall Street Journal opinion piece, "How to Prepare for the Next Pandemic” (April 13). However, not only does he use the coronavirus crisis as an opportunity to make political attacks as we would expect of him, I had to read no further than the first of his four initiatives to find him using lies to achieve his objective of praising President Obama and disparaging President Trump: “Early-warning system.
The voter purge myth
This article by David Harsanyi is excellent and makes it clear (as have many other articles) that the claims by Stacey Abrams and many other Democrats about losing elections due to voter suppression via improper purging of voter rolls is utter nonsense.
Journalists keep saying âno evidence of wrongdoing by Bidens,â but they are wrong
One thing that irks me to no end is the statement in virtually all mainstream media stories referencing Hunter Biden that, “There is no evidence of wrongdoing by the Bidens.” For example, here it is in a WSJ story today: "Mr. Trump and his allies have questioned Hunter Biden’s board role at a Ukrainian gas company. Mr. Trump has called the Bidens’ activities corrupt.

Promoting investment in sustainable urban development with JESSICA: Outcomes of a new EU policy initiative
Between 2007 and 2015, the European Commission invested €1.846 billion in a new policy initiative called JESSICA (Joint European Support for Sustainable Investment in City Areas). Since European cities in particular have perceived a shortage of investment dedicated to urban regeneration projects, JESSICA will finance more than 2000 higher risk projects through Urban Development Funds as a financial intermediary in order to create economic stimulus.
Global warming: Science or dogma?
Its April 1, 2017 issue of “The Week That Was” leads with the point that “government-funded Climate Studies have largely turned from empirical science to dogma -- a belief system unsubstantiated by physical evidence.” Each week’s TWTW is chock full of commentary and links describing the latest science and other developments that challenge the climate change orthodoxy.
