What was your first job as a journalist?
My first job as a journalist was writing freelance for Condé Nast's Teen Vogue.
Have you ever used a typewriter?
Nope. I was born in the wrong generation, I guess.
How is social media changing news?
Social media makes news more accessible and helps us innovate with multimedia, but it comes with the cost of short attention spans.
Who's your favorite fictional journalist?
Katherine Plumber from the Disney musical *Newsies* embodies my belief that journalists should hold people accountable, even family!
What does it mean to be a journalist?
Being a journalist means carrying an obligation to hold lawmakers and people in positions of privilege accountable.
What's your favorite social network?
Although I have recently plunged down the Twitter and Tiktok rabbit holes, I have built my best following on Instagram.
Who do you wish followed you?
I have become obsessed with 's Instagram aesthetic, so I would feel validated for him to follow me. Yes, this is shallow. And?
Why did you become a journalist?
The media I grew up with was very homogeneous and white-washed, and certainly American egocentric. I want to tell underrepresented stories.
Did you work for your high school newspaper? If so, what did you do there?
I still do! I work as a Content Team Editor for *The Muse* at A.W. Dreyfoos School of the Arts. Previously, I was the Social Media Editor.

What advice can you offer to aspiring journalists?
Don't ever sell yourself short. Go for the big opportunities, even when it's scary. Value your own work and always be authentic!
What's your favorite drink?
I'm sure this question refers to alcohol, but nothing beats an iced coffee with almondmilk, no sugar.
When you're not at a computer, where are you most likely to be?
I'm most likely reading a book or writing in my journal! I love annotating what I read and really taking time to digest it.
Aside from your own, what's your favorite publication to read?
I love both The New York Times and The Washington Post — I read them both quite religiously. As for my "fun" reads: The New Yorker and Vogue.
