Oklahoma is set for a warm Thursday night with temperatures in the 70s and scattered showers possible in northern parts of the state. KOCO 5 Meteorologist Michael Armstrong said there is a slight chance of thunderstorms developing across the state on Friday. High temperatures for Friday are expected to reach the upper 90s, with Oklahoma City and several other locations likely to stay just shy of the 100-degree mark.

Similar to how detectives use new DNA techniques to solve cold cases, these methods are now being applied to reassess tornado strength.
Enid walking trail buckles in extreme heat, supervisor says he's never seen damage like it
ENID, Okla. - Extreme heat caused significant damage to the Enid walking trail, with city crews completing repairs within a week and officials urging caution for users. "I couldn't believe it. I've been here 13 years and never seen anything like that on the walking trail. Six-inch concrete completely pyramided. Two 10-foot sections. Just is unbelievable," said Cory Buller, parks and recreation supervisor for the city of Enid.

Oklahoma Task Force One and other rescue teams are deploying to South Texas to assist with emergency efforts as the region faces catastrophic flooding along the Guadalupe River Basin. Brad Smith, an Oklahoma City fire battalion chief and leader of Task Force One, said his team of six is prepared for the mission. NWS confirms 3 tornadoes in Oklahoma during overnight severe storms
There were three confirmed tornadoes in Oklahoma from Sunday night into Monday morning amid a severe storm outbreak that caused damage across the state.The National Weather Service confirmed tornadoes touched down in El Reno, Harrah and Wetumka. Preliminary assessments show EF-0 damage in Harrah and EF-1 damage in Wetumka. The El Reno tornado did not have a preliminary rating as of 4:25 p.m. Monday.
