Each year I vow to ignore Celebrity Race Across the World, but it sucks me in
Series four of Celebrity Race Across the World (BBC One) began in the dense prehistoric rainforests of South-East Asia. Snakes slithered. Giant creepy-crawlies scuttled. Crocodiles glided ominously through water. And eight semi-famous people waddled along like asthmatic tortoises in their shell-like backpacks, panting in panic as they wondered what on earth they’d signed up for. Every year, I vow to skip this globe-trotting contest. Do I need another celebrity competition on my viewing schedule?

James Blunt and Michael Sheen (pictured with Romesh Ranganathan and King Kenny) are suspecting all the wrong people The game's penultimate week ended with a much-mourned murder and the tightest, tensest Round Table yet. James Acaster leaves his fellow Traitors vulnerable
That yawn-inducing cliffhanger was resolved without the drama many were predicting, but a pair of big-name departures left the Faithful reeling. Here are all the treacherous talking points… After a long wait, the result of that killer cliffhanger was a little underwhelming. Not so much the fault of the show itself, but the fevered speculation that had filled the six-day void. Would Ross Kemp rumble the ruse and unmask two Traitors at once?
‘The tech bro fight club is real!’ The titans of AI get the Succession treatment in a wild new TV show
Showrunner Jonathan Glatzer wanted the tagline of his latest TV creation to be: “We’re so fucked.” He laughs. “Sadly it got rejected by the network. Hey, maybe I can use it for season two!” The show in question is The Audacity, his darkly comic drama about AI tech titans. Instead, it went with the more PG tagline “Move fast and break people” – a twist on “Move fast and break things”, the Facebook motto coined by Mark Zuckerberg.

‘Someone served sushi off a guy’s naked chest!’ How we made Come Dine With Me
It all started in the early 00s when I tried to throw a dinner party. I was an executive producer during the early days of reality TV – and a house-proud young mum. My posh cousin and her even posher husband came for a meal. I was rushing to get the kids to bed and tidy up, so the food was an afterthought. I'd never made couscous before but decided to serve it with chicken. It was awful. Dry chicken with congealed couscous.

Corn and soybeans face headwinds from hope of fast US harvest progress
HAMBURG - Chicago corn and soybeans were pressured on Monday on expectations that favourable weather will enable good progress with US harvesting, although soy falls were limited by strong Chinese purchases of US soybeans. Wheat was underpinned as continued fighting meant Russian and Ukrainian Black Sea exports were unlikely to resume quickly. Chicago Board of Trade most active corn fell 0.4% to $4.72-1/4 a bushel at 1147 GMT, remaining around its lowest in about two months.

In a raging storm in the Peak District last winter, a blue Toyota Yaris was parked in a remote roadside spot with a sex scene being filmed inside it. “It can pose challenges, depending on the size of the car,” chuckles Romola Garai. “Me and Dominic [Cooper] got in this hatchback and asked: ‘How far do these seats go back?’ Soon there was a gale blowing outside. ‘My husband has to remind me: You’re not a real cop!’ Siân Brooke on the perils of playing a tough Blue Lights ‘peeler’
Sharp eyes save lives. That’s the mantra of the police officers in Blue Lights, although the words sound a good deal more urgent when said in a throaty Belfast accent. The city, dealing with past and present problems, is the turbulent setting for the hit drama. Having starred in the BBC series for the past four years, Siân Brooke has taken its lessons about vigilance to heart. “I noticed some dodgy-looking activity not far from where we live in London,” says Brooke.

Cach and Maddie’s quickstep Oh hello, he’s here. Love Islander and influencer Cach Mercer is an experienced dancer, albeit self-taught and not versed in Latin and ballroom, so he has high expectations. Paired with new home-grown pro Maddie Ingoldsby, he certainly looks the part for this wedding-themed number. Too much messin’ abaht to start, then into hold for a ripping routine. Energetic yet elegant, light on their feet and full of frothy fun. Disco moves, leaps and dips.

Saturday Night Live UK is fresher and funnier than the stale US original
Saturday Night Live UK (Sky One) came back with all royal and governmental guns blazing. The second series kicked off by gleefully mocking Prince Harry and the Duchess of Sussex's return to Britain . When the much-maligned couple barged into Balmoral, an understandably exasperated King Charles sighed: “What do you two want? Don't tell me you've spent all that Netflix money already.” “Daddy, it was $16m,” replied Harry sulkily.

A tragedy. A national disaster. A loss to the cultural landscape that should be discussed in parliament. These were just a few listener reactions when Liza Tarbuck left her Radio 2 show earlier this year. “I was bereft about it, too,” sighs Tarbuck. “I miss angsting over the playlist. I miss the texts and emails. For two hours every weekend, we were a proper gang.” Tarbuck hosted her Saturday evening show for 14 years, building it into the funniest show on British radio.
