Munetaka Murakami has been named an All-Star and will participate in the Home Run Derby. The Chicago White Sox continue to get outstanding news on rookie slugger Munetaka Murakami. In addition to his return from a hamstring injury, Murakami has been named an All-Star. He replaces Minnesota Twins superstar Byron Buxton. Murakami will join Miguel Vargas as the White Sox’s All-Stars for 2026. Vargas is the American League’s starting third baseman, while Murakami will be a reserve.

MLB has named Ceddanne Rafaela as an injury replacement for Aaron Judge. This will be the first time that Rafaela has been named an All-Star in his career. Judge had won a starting outfield spot in the fan vote, but is currently battling a rib injury and is on the Yankees‘ injured list.

Red Sox Get Positive Connelly Early Injury Update Before Mets Series

Red Sox rookie left-hander Connelly Early has been on the injured list for all of July. Early left his start against the Washington Nationals on June 30 with elbow discomfort. The left-hander underwent imaging and sought out a second opinion from Dr. Keith Meister. Chris Cotillo of MassLive reports that Dr. Meister confirmed the initial diagnosis of just posterior elbow inflammation and soreness, and nothing more beyond that. That's good news for both Early and the Red Sox.
