1. Introduction Postpartum depression (PPD) is commonly associated with women. Over the last decades, research has mainly focused on maternal PPD and child development. However, up to 1 in 10 new dads can experience depression during the perinatal period [1]. Major Depressive Disorder with peripartum onset is defined in the DSM-5 [2] as a subtype of depression that occurs during pregnancy or in the first 4 weeks after delivery. However, symptoms of PPD can occur any time in the first year postpartum.
