Methods/analysis Trial design A single-centre prospective, parallel group randomised controlled trial will be conducted to compare the effect of a prehabilitation intervention on functional, physical and clinical outcomes compared with standard care. Participants will be randomly allocated 1:1 to either standard care or the intervention. Participants allocated to standard care will receive routine preoperative advice only.
